Greg gave it 8/10 and John gave 9 or 9½/10
Good stuff and partially restored faith.

I'm confused. A score in the 70s, even low 70s, isn't what I'd call bad.
Of course not, but Disney/Marvel for years now have used and molded their movies around maximizing RT scores to market their films as a sign of quality, so it is interesting to see that come around on them now.Do critics reviews matter? Because I am sure that there are plenty of movies that we love that have been critically panned. A lot of movies I love were critically panned as awful and terrible. I will be absolutely shocked if there's not a movie that any of you love that has been critically panned. So these reviews don't matter to me.
More good stuff. I was really looking forward to hear their thoughts because i felt that we where very much on the same page. He liked both Ragnarok and TLT about the same with a slight advantage to Ragnarok. She liked TLT more than Ragnarok.
New Rockstars loved it.

Business as usual. They matter when the score is high for a movie the board cares about. When it's 80% or lower, they don't matter.
Yes they matter and they always have. That's why every major release it's a point of discussion. If they didn't matter, then there wouldn't be separate discussion threads about them at all.
They matter and anyone who says they don't is lying to themselves.
I'm wondering if the very sheltered/isolated nature that many of their film projects took during pandemic is coming back to bite them a bit as it likely affected the ability of the different MCU directors to collaborate like they were in Phase 3.
Certainly feels like the MCU is trying to reestablish its footing after Phase 3 and the pandemic but haven't quite figured where to take things. The isolated nature of most of their Phase 4 productions is starting to feel like a major hinderance at this point as the writers/directors aren't getting the feedback and ideas they used to get by working side-by-side in the same offices. It also feels like Feige and his team of producers/execs have somewhat forgotten what worked with both fans and critics.Run time wise it definitely shook them imo as both MoM and L&T had longer cuts that were very trimmed down. Shame as it seems both movies could have used more mins.
But I did love MoM

That's great. We saw from their reactions out of the theatre too that they genuinely loved it.
Their only real critical hits so far have been Shang-Chi and NWH. I'm just not getting good feelings with their 2022 offerings. BP2 is very concerning now with how secretive they've been with that film. They seemed to get it with No Way Home. But admittedly, that's just one movie.
