The Official Super Mario Bros Reboot/1993 Film Discussion Thread

Hmm, they can't really get Galifikakis anymore. Oh gosh please not Josh Gad

After oddysey I reckon someone could have fun with it and I would watch it. I'll probably see detective pikachu too

Nintendo and Illumination are partnering on a movie starring Mario, co-produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and Chris Meledandri!

Sonic going to the movies. Mario coming back to the movies. Interesting.

Animated movie but it's Illumination so I'm happy with that.

Good idea to get the feelers out. If this does well, live action Super Mario here we come.

How could anyone not like the '93 film?

Hoskins & Leguizamo. Dennis freakin' Hopper as Koopa. Samantha Mathis. A Silvestri score.

This.

Heathens.

Despite its awfulness I do have a bit of a soft spot for that atrocious movie. I would never call it a Mario movie but it is more a pastiche.

After watching The Gaming Historian's documentary of the film, it absolutely makes sense why the 90's film failed.

Still, you couldn't say we've seen a better representation of the modern politician than Koopa

Yeah, let's just go drive-by turn every thread into a Trump thing, that's fun.

I... didn't see Trump's name mentioned at all. That's all on you there.

There are more countries than America and more terrible politicians, if you can call him that, than just Trump, no need to jump to conclusions.
