For me, political leaders should set good examples like being polite and respectful. If you disagree about policy, go over the points and break them down, don't just say it's stupid. In years past, even if you didn't agree with your fellow Congressmen, they didn't boo them or openly mock them like they do to each other now. It's unseemly in adults. You don't like a policy? Say why with debate, not childish insults. Problems don't get solved that way, just like they aren't now. Used to be people would compromise, everybody gives a little to get a little. That's not being done right now and a big reason why our Government is struggling.
Yeah, when Republicans talk about taking away "entitlements"? That's your benefits they are talking about. They look at people like you and my daughter and without knowing your circumstances just turn their eyes away and say, "Get a job!"
