International Study on Abortion Yields Interesting Results

As this society gets more and more irresponsible while we approach the End Times, soon runny, smeared abortions will be chic! :cmad:

Runny, smeared abortions will be the new fur. The rich will have coats and stoles made of them. Sort of like those stoles that have a leopard head with it's tail in it's mouth, acting as a wrap-around to keep it on the wearer's body. Only different.

I saw a lizard making lemonade, life gave them to him.

Yep, our irresponsible times sure are beneath those responsible times like in the 18 and 19th century where every Landlord and his son got into bed with the maids and when they were pregnant... well just kick them out onto the street. That's responsiblity indeed.

It's called irresponsibility CristoTheSecond. Get used to it because more and more people in this immature society are forgetting what it means to be mature and responsible.

See my answer to Cristo's question. When it comes to us humans, it's all about irresponsibility for your actions. The part in bold only applies to wild animals without self reflection and only instincts.

Wow how condescending. You make it sound like all women that have abortions are ****s and ****es that do it for kicks. If you do a little research, you'll find that the vast majority of girls who get abortions are socially and financially disadvantaged. As the standard of living in a country increases, abortion rate decreases. You cannot forget what it means to be mature and responsible if you were never given the opportunity.

On the other hand, the people who tend to rally against abortion are largely middle-class and privileged. Smacks of income disparity and moral elitism.

The ironic part of that is that those same people are usually the ones that complain about so many people being on welfare and government assistance.

I have to say, when it comes to abortion, I can no longer understand how anyone can go through with it. My wife and I are expecting our first child together, and just the experience of the pregnancy has given me a new outlook on this issue. I can remember the first time I heard my unborn daughter's heartbeat, wow! I was so amazed by it. Then to think that my wife was still at a stage where an abortion would have been legal. I thought, how could anyone hear that tiny heart, and then decide to stop it, dead. I understand there are some people out there who feel that an abortion is better than an unwanted child, and they may be right, but I know I could never put a woman through, nor could I support her choice to do so.

And before someone asks me, "Well what do we do about all the unwanted pregnancies and unwanted babies that abortions would prevent?", I don't know. I'm just saying, I cannot support it.

Bottom line, legal or not.Abortions happen, and will continue to happen.I suppose it's some kind of mercy.

I don't support abortion either, and would never want someone I know to have one, but I'm pro-choice because it's none of my business if someone wants to get one or not.

I hear what you're saying. The decision to have an abortion is tragic no matter what the circumstances; both pro-lifers and pro-choicers at least agree on that. Still, sometimes people are desperate enough to want one. Might as well keep it legal and safe, so only one life is lost and not two.

Yeah! :cmad:

People hardly ever got pregnant when they really shouldn't have in the old days.
Now that we have Grand Theft Auto and Brittany Spears videos, suddenly people are becoming irresponsible.

:whatever:

I never said people in the old days never had surprise pregnancys, just was saying that more and more people in this society then in times before are immature and don't want to pay for their mistakes.

Just look how many people sue over things that are there fault lately. Abortion is just another scapegoat for them.

You just compared abortion to a McDonald's hot-coffee lawsuit.

Phail.

Or, to be fair, it might be that since there's so many more people alive today and having sex which might account for increased numbers in abortions.

Do you think abortions didn't happen in the "old days" or something?

It's about making choices, if you can't afford at that time in your life to take care of a child, you should think twice about having sex. As for the line in bold, what does being low-income or poor have anything whatsoever with making mature and responsible decisions.

As for the last statement, I wouldn't call myself privileged. Had to earn just about everything I ever had, my parents are lower/middle class. I can't speak for everyone who rallies against abortion but I know I only think it's wrong because your killing an unborn child for your own mistake.

I'm sure they did, just I think as with a lot of things now days.....it's happening way more now days.

I wish I was aborted...then I'd never have read one of FigmanJ's posts. :csad:

Yeah, I know, but some of us care about our society we live in. When you start lowering the standards and demorilizing(sp?) things your society starts to break and leads to an eventual downfall.

You know what else you don't see animals doing?

  • Hooking up their children to dialysis machines
  • Piloting jets over Iraq
  • Writing
  • Writing about imaginary creatures that turn the ocean into blood
  • Playing accordion
  • Building churches
  • Making Pizza
  • Others
  • Playing Basketball

Actually, I believe it's just something that is more out in the open these days, as opposed to being something that just wasn't discussed. Ever. It was just done and never spoken of. And, the population increase over the last century, as already pointed out, means there are more people having sex. Add in that this is an issue that is more acceptable to discuss in the open, now, and you suddenly see much more visibility about the issue than there was in the past.

No, all this immoral liberal evil is new; abortions, homosexuality, drug use, flag burning, it all started in the sixties; only now are we beginning to turn the tide back to the good old days. I only wish The Gipper were alive and not senile so he could enjoy it.:yay:

Abortion reduces crime. True story. Would you prefer to have more crime in the society we live in? There's a book Freakonomics, it talks about how legalizing abortion lowered crime rates, you should check it out.

That's disturbing, but I agree with the contraception thing :o
