We have seen some the galaxies "other" villains in the films after the WOF, and they all sucked pretty much.
Kahn brings complexity, depth, emotion, morale and scientific dilemmas (with the genetics) and intrigue that if they don't reintroduce him now in this alternate Trek universe, it will truly be wasted opportunity.
Like I said, wait until you see what they have in mind before thinking this is going to be the exact Kahn from the freakin 60's or the WOF. Once again....you act like Kahn was last seen by the general movie going public 3 years ago or something?
This will be probably be an intriguing new twist on Space Seed and something fresh, that has not been seen onscreen or in TOS with Kahn before.
So what you're saying in essence is that Abrams and all other Trek directors/writers since TWOK have been incapable of creating a great villain, so they should go ahead and rehash Khan again...???
Nice vote of confidence in Abrams, there. Like Jamie and Redhawk have been saying: if this is supposed to be *new* ground, and Abrams has "carte blanche" to take Trek's original crew into entirely new directions, then take them to new frontiers, by god. Hell, introduce a brand spankin' new race of baddies for the Federation to war against.
