Weller was amazing. Perfect casting there.

They'll probably do Killing Joke before they do Long Halloween or Dark Victory. But id rather just get LH first. it would be unreal.

Best Batman animated film, hands down.

And wheres the love for Peter Weller? I thought his Batman was/is the best since Kevin Conroy. Loved his take on Batman. Would love to see him in more Batman animated films.

Weller was good. I liked this film and hope WB continues to adapt these stories with the same effort. This might be the best so far ( of the new generation).

The preview for part 2 says Winter of 2013. Do they mean late next year?

What a great animated movie, I was even saying the dialogue as I remember from reading the TPB as it was almost exactly like the comic, now this is how a faithful adaptation should be about worthy of two 70 minute movies and not truncated as Death Of Superman was.

Looking at the preview for part 2 I can't wait to hear Michael Emerson as Joker, just the few audio clips got me excited about the only negative about the disc is that it totally skimped out on extras, not even a measly commentary at least.

Due to the tragic Colorado theater shootings for TDKR does anyone know if part 2 will have the comic panels of the gunman shooting in a theater?

For those that don't know the third book of The Dark Knight Returns includes a scene of some loony red haired guy start shooting inside a movie porn theater.

Can't say for fact, but I doubt it's in there considering what was changed or cut out of this one. I don't think they'd need it for the story anyway.

Killing Joke wouldn't be very difficult for them to adapt as it was only 40 something pages, in that case they can add whatever they like to the story and still keep the original scenes, The Long Halloween would be cool too, the animation could be very similar to the original artwork, the only problem is the length as much of the story would have to be cuted.

Totally agree

Yeah hes up there with Conroy and Greenwood for me

Bought this on blu ray a few hours ago. Haven't watched it yet, but looking forward to it. Also, why the **** do we have to wait a year for part 2????

It comes out around Feb/March... that's not that bad.

I know it's animated but in the new "Dark Knight Returns" movie there's a close up shot of Bruce putting on the cowl, and before he slips it on you can see that the eye holes are black and somehow, when he puts it over his eyes they turn white lmao. Something the movie/comics never explain

I even went on it frame-by-frame, and when the eyeholes are on his forehead and eyebrows, you can see his skin and eyebrows, but OH when they touch his eyes they just turn white haha.

The fight with Batman and the mutant gang leader reminded me of Batman vs. Bane in TDKR that for awhile there I forgot I was watching an animated movie that I was wincing at the bones breaking and Carrie pulling on Bruce's arm in place.

watched it today...very solid product.

It competes with Under the Red Hood but doesn't come close to Return of the Joker much less Mask of the Phantasm. Can't wait for part II though. I wouldn't be too offended if they later offered it as a single complete movie.

I do hope that Long Halloween eventually gets animated, the visual style of the comic brought to life..

I don't think the world could handle something that awesome. I would be overjoyed if we ever got an animated Long Halloween.

It would be incredible. Everyone will want Dark Victory right after too. So it'll be a huge project.

I'd be up for Long Halloween and Dark Victory for definite, they'd have to really trim them down though more the Long Halloween than Dark Victory.

I didn't get the BD or DVD yet, but I wanted to ask; what is the overall feelings of the Carrie Kelly? Is it worth buying the BD, or should I stick to the DVD?

That was from Book Two, so it would've been in Part 1.

Yeah, that's good. I loved part 1 so much. It would kill me to have to wait a year for the next part. Especially after watching the featurette on it on the blu-ray features.

comes out here on dvd/bluray tomorrow
can't wait to pick it up, preordered the limited edition blu-ray that comes with the figure
was shocked cause usually we don't get those versions

how tall are the exclusive figures normally ?

Carrie is awesome as the new Robin. She comes in and fills an emotional void for Bruce and it shows here. She doesn't come off as annoying, either, which is nice considering other kid-friendly sidekicks.

And Blu-Ray.

No no no, I'm sorry; I meant the Her Name is Carrie Kelly, Her Role is Robin documentary. It's only on the BD; how is it?
