World Post pictures of Spider-Man thread - Part 1

Spider-Man vs Hulk by Michael Golden. I recently read Marvel Fanfare #46 drawn by him and I loved it. Spidey's got the flu, the Hulk's got an alien spore on his neck giving him a fever so he's furious and mindless, and some SHIELD grunt tosses him into the Bronx and it's insanity from there. Awesome issue!!

Spider-Man by Humberto Ramos (from around 2001, maybe his 1st professional Spidey piece?).

Still trying to get that series, at least the issues of characters I care about

Oh, Lord...old-school Ramos. And people hate his new stuff, HA.
Oddly, his proportions in this image are better than the cover of Superior 1

I don't have many issues either, but I'd definitely recommend getting #47 (actually 47, not 46. My mistake) Just a fun story with some really incredible art by Michael Golden. #42 is a good Spidey story, so is #6. I have #41, which is a Doctor Strange story by Walt Simonson & Dave Gibbons, so that's pretty cool. #22 & 23, the 2 part Doc Ock/Iron Man story painted by Ken Steacy is also a good one just for that art. The storybook-like style of his painting is really unique.

John Romita Jr and Sr.

I've NEVER liked Kirby's take on Spidey... I LOVE Kirby's stuff, but Spidey is the one character that he's never been able to properly draw... in a LOT of his other artwork, it seemed like the webbing design always gave him problems...

as to Kirby's poster, which I first saw years ago, what's with the open palm and the webbing being ejected from the TOP of his hand?!?...

and having Sentinels as the villains for a poster was just totally inappropriate...

that's why Romita was commissioned to do a similar poster with Doc Ock and the Goblin, which just blew Kirby's away...

They chase after mutants, might as well chase after that guy Jameson constantly outlaws with his powers

Is it me, or would this be a MUCH better show than Ultimate Spider-Man?

Harry (between Gwen, Shocker, and Jonah Jameson) looks like Jake Gyllinghal

maybe mr kirby thought the sentenel could be used as spider slyers and vice vesa

This might be my favorite Humberto Ramos drawn Spider-Man piece. I really like how the long road appears so winding.

Dat Ramos. I really do enjoy his work. His proportions are far from correct and his style is...strong, but I have such a good time looking at it.

Spider-Man vs. the Green Goblin by Lee Bermejo. :wow:

SpideyvsGoblin.low.jpg

Oh, ****! That is gorgeous. I love the realistic look he gives characters. It's so cool. If anything, a slightly tighter version of that Spider-Man suit would've been PERFECT for the reboot. It has everything they wanted to incorporate with the first suit and all without losing the classic design.

Lee Bermejo draws my favorite Spider-Man costume. I love it.

Here's a few neat screen caps from the upcoming Original Graphic Novel of Spidey coming out soon.... looks like a great story!!!

Keep On Thwipin'!!!
Sam
