The Force Awakens General Star Wars Episode VII News/Speculation Thread - - Part 11

Tweaks are made through out productions on scripts. It's normal. Some time they find a line an actor supposed to say and they take it out after the person actually says it. Realizing it doesn't work for that character.

Yes, tweaks are great.. otherwise we get lines such as "Yippie!" or "NOOOOOOO" or anything with "Messa" in it

Scripts are constantly worked on, even during filming. This has been the case for every movie in the history of existence.

Yes, I realize. Advertising that in a "Happy Star Wars" day video is kind of whack. "Happy Star Wars Day! We're still scripting! K thx bye"

And to add to that, they just had their first script run through, and good directors, ones like JJ that love to work with actors very closely, take in input. And may tweak things to fit more of who they cast.

Trying to compare it to that is just not the case. It's more of a last ditch quick...oh JJ you better say something to the fans. Mainly because if you look at these boards tons ***** and moan that he's not communicating with us. It was more of a I'm busy...but hello from us. More announcements to come."

Most realize that script fine tuning will happen into filming with most films. Some just look too deep into it and run around and scream "the sky is falling". Type of thing. Most that see that go: "Oh cool they are filming soon and giving us more updates".

You could tell that was far from something well planned out they just jumped on and said hey whats up.

Ignoring the quick JJ Abrams/Kasdan video, some speculation from me about when the trailers will emerge. (Just speculation, don't slam me if I get some things wrong.)

- I wouldn't be surprised if we get a footage-free teaser this Christmas (a la the footage-free ST reboot teaser) with choice soundbites, the film's full title and release date.
- It's going to be a no-brainer decision: Disney will have a genuine teaser (with footage) on prints of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Mark my words.
- I expect the final trailer on prints for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 on November 20, 2015.

Funny thing that's what I told my friend.

No doubt Age of Ulton will have a trailer, that will be a 100% lock. I also think this December we will get more of a tease. However I think like LOTR we will get the final trailer earlier then Hunger Games. I will bet it will debut with Season 2 of Star Wars Rebels in September. Or at latest with Bond in early November. They will want it earlier then less then a month. So though I'm sure a version will be attached to Hunger Game I doubt it will debut on it.

They could always shoot specific scenes that can be used for a teaser when shooting begins as thats been done before

The thought of the episode 7 teaser makes me so so happy!!! :yay: :hubba :woot: :awesome::applaud:highfive:

Could this be the first glimpse how Chewie will look like in EP VII? Photo taken by Bob Iger himself (according to RebelForce Radio)

It's a good thing they're still tweaking the script--it means we'll get the best dialogue possible. I also hope we get one of Harrison Ford's famous ad libs, as well (e.g., "I know," shooting the swordsman in Indiana Jones).

ZOMFG CHEWIE!! If that is indeed his EpVII look, it's interesting that they haven't changed him ie some gray hair etc (as far as we can see).

RebelForce didn't' say how they got the photo. Bob doesn't have a twitter account.

I think Disney will try to make sure a sizable female audience sees the trailer, ones who wouldn't go to Star Wars normally or don't have the Internet. 007 makes sense too, to remind the older audience "hey, a sequel to 'Return of the Jedi' is coming out"!

I just noticed this blurb in the WSJ article announcing J.J. Abrams' directing Episode VII: "J.J., his longtime producing partner Bryan Burk, and Bad Robot are on board to produce along with Kathleen Kennedy under the Disney | Lucasfilm banner."

Shoot. I was hoping Disney would treat Lucasfilm like Marvel Studios, and leave the castle logo off the SW films. It's not going to stop me from seeing the film, but it's gonna be a sharp contrast from the 20th Century Fox fanfare and logo opening the previous pics.

I'm going to tweak this and say that I think:
The title will be at Comic-Con this year.
A Dark Knight-esque teaser with The Hobbit in December.
Full trailer with Age of Ultron.
Final trailer with Bond. (Also attached to Mockingjay later that month.)
