Agent Carter Agent Carter - S01E01 "Now Is Not The End"

Heretic, what does it matter to you if some people don't see the usage of generic action footage from the One Shot as constituting a continuity error?

I'm not sure that I would care if people hadn't asserted that I'm wrong, completely wrong, hilariously wrong, and that I'm a troll for even mentioning it. It drives me nuts that forums have a culture where it is "wrong" to find ANY fault in the project at the top of the page. Love Spider-Man your entire life but didn't like Electro in Amazing Spider-Man 2? Well...you're a troll who shouldn't watch the movies and why are you in this forum? It's maddening. Sometimes people love and respect a property but have some small issues with a movie or show based on it. Other people refuse to accept that it's not perfect, so they have to attack the person who dares to find some small fault in a project...so...it explodes into a multi-page argument. It's really stupid, and that includes both sides. But it doesn't matter what they THINK about a continuity error anyway. There IS currently a continuity error that could be addressed. It requires a No Prize, put it that way. In fact, most people who claim that there isn't a conflict admit that they never actually watched the One Shot...so I'm not sure how they can be so sure that a conflict doesn't exist.

Guys, just let Heretic go. If he wants to become pathologically obsessed with this one EXTREMELY MINOR thing, to the point of spending page upon page ranting on it/getting ****y with people who don't share his opinion, then let him do so, by himself. Meanwhile, we call all discuss the other hour and fifty-eight minutes+ of the show.

I bet the guy Peggy beat the **** out of with the stapler isn't wasting his day dwelling on alleged continuity errors. :D

Everything Peggy Carter did was… :hrt: :hrt: :hrt:

I'm so glad Marvel beefed up her role big time in the MCU. I see some complaining about why she gets a TV show, and I'm all, "Look, if the police commissioner from Batman can get a show about him, you can settle down and let me watch my favorite female from the MCU kick all the ass ever."

Phase II has literally become the Peggy Carter Shared Universe. I have no problem with this!

I'm impressed by how good Halely is as an actor to carry this show. I like the format and that Peggy isn't backing down she's out there fighting and looking good while doing it.

The writers said last year that this show was going to be after the Captain America: First Avenger movie, but before the one shot, so they probably used footage from the one shot because they wanted to grab some generic action shots of her and just figured maybe the fans wouldn't quite notice or they just didn't care if we would notice because they figured it was a generic enough shot, but we noticed it. (Like how Stark noticed the guy playing Gallaga)

What are you talking about? You think we're discussing that detail?? No, no, no...we haven't really been talking about that all day! Heck, I'd love to actually discuss the problems the show has with that! Instead, the conversation has been me getting attacked...me being told that I'm wrong, delusional, obsessed, whatever.

So, while they COULD have ended this a long time ago by either showing me that I'm wrong (which would be actually discussing the show) or admitting that I'm right (which would be discussing the show)...they just attack me...kinda like you did. I proved in another thread that when you show me that I'm wrong, I will IMMEDIATELY change my tune. But...no one dared to prove me wrong...yet no one wanted to acknowledge that I am right...so instead, the conversation has revolved around me instead of the show.

The truly obsessed people are the ones who are so incapable of admitting that SOMETHING might be wrong with the show that they feel the need to endlessly attack me just because I dared to point out a problem with it. These people are so in love with a tv show that their ability to think rationally has been destroyed and they feel they must smear a stranger online in order to protect the perfect image of the show.

I was finally able to watch the two hour pilot tonight, and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. Atwell is great in the role and they nailed the period. Can't wait for the next episode.

DUDE! They called it "ladies things." You didn't have to use the p-word! But yeah, she nailed the delivery of that line.

Yep,many of us have pointed that out several times. Not a good enough explanation,I guess. Get Feige on the line and tell him they have to re-shoot the entire episode. That 8 seconds undoes the whole of MCU continuity.:o

You're STILL talking about that? Geez...I was over it a long time ago...but people keep insisting that I care about it deeply...so they keep bringing it up over and over and telling people that I think its a huge deal...and then I step in and say "No, its not a huge deal, get over it" and they say "look at Heretic, still talking about it...he thinks its such a huge deal...he's a troll and he keeps talking about it and something should be done about the fact that he constantly talks about it" No matter how many times I change the subject, people keep replying that I refuse to change the subject. No matter how many times I explain that I DON'T CARE if you think it's a big deal or not, people reply that I am demanding that people accept it as a big deal.

Seriously...I'm not sure how I can explain this any clearer. At the moment, it CURRENTLY APPEARS to be a continuity gaffe. That doesn't mean that it's big or small...just that it appears to be a gaffe. Maybe Marvel will address it and whatever issue exists will be cleared up, maybe the One Shot will just fade out of continuity entirely. I have already figured out a way in my own mind that makes it no longer a continuity problem...and if Marvel never addresses it, then that is the story I'll go with in my head. I made that clear a long time ago...and people keep insisting that I refuse to let it go. We're going on like 13 hours now where I haven't given a flying leap about it...and yet there you are, insisting that no answer will satisfy me. You people just keep on and on and on...talking about me endlessly...insisting that I care about something and calling me a troll...when all I want to do is talk about Agent Carter...but its hard to when some of you only want to talk about me so you keep going with a lie that I have repeatedly...over and over again...clarified.

Now...I KNOW that people are going to read that above comment and say "Oh Heretic, still demanding that we think it's some huge deal" and anyone who thinks that is a MORON.

Seriously...STOP MAKING UP LIES ABOUT ME AND START TALKING ABOUT AGENT CARTER.

What does that clip have to do with Agent Carter, Six?

Very old news: "The show would start in 1946, sort of in the middle of the timeline of the One Shot. McFeely said, “We can’t get her to the end of S.H.I.E.L.D. that fast. We wanna stay in that world longer where people are disrespecting her and she’s proving herself and going on missions and things like that.”"

Now can we stop?

What does your bruised ego have to with Agent Carter? That was a rhetorical question by the way, don't answer. Let everyone talk about the show again.

STOP WHAT??? The debate over continuity ended LONG ago. Ever since, its been people bashing me...inventing arguments that I never made and then calling me a troll in order to discount these imagined stances of mine.

HOWEVER...That link does seem to clarify what I've been saying ALL ALONG...that the show would split the timeline of the One Shot. I said that OH SO MANY hours ago...but people kept arguing against a point I wasn't even making because they can't accept ANY criticism of this show. But you did what the others couldn't. While others claimed that Marvel is beyond questioning and that I should just accept whatever happens without explanation and never complain...you produced a link that clarified it all. So...Marvel doesn't have to address it any further. They say that the show takes place in the middle of the One Shot...thats great...thats EXACTLY the work-around that I suggested yesterday. I'm thrilled with that!

Now...stay tuned for another 10 pages of people arguing that I refuse to get over the continuity issue. These people are trolls and haven't been honest about this discussion the entire time.

Please stop talking about me. This forum is about Agent Carter.

Stop. Talking. About. The. God. Damn. One. Shot.

I was actually done talking about it yesterday afternoon. Other people have refused to let the subject drop.

It's that easy. I made a simple observation...solved the question myself early yesterday afternoon in the EXACT way that the show has apparently answered it. But ******** people refuse to let it go.

I'm sorry that these people refuse to let the discussion drop after the many, many, many times I have clarified my stance and tried to change the subject.

I finally watched the first episode. Coming in here for the first time, who knew a TV pilot would stir up so much controversy.

I find no continuity errors because this clearly takes place before the one shot. Howard hasn't formed SHIELD yet, he's on the run from the law. Peggy is still with the SSR. That's about all I have to say about that.

Anyway, I enjoyed the episode, and am looking forward to when we see the howling commandos again in future episodes.

Now that we know that the writers of the show agree with me and actually were smart enough to use the exact method of getting around the continuity issue that I suggested 24 hours ago (and got bashed for)...does anyone want to discuss Agent Carter????

You are incorrect, according to the writers of the show...this mini-series takes place in the middle of the One Shot...which is EXACTLY what I suggested would need to be the case.

You're right. This from last year pretty much says so.

This really was a decent show, I hope they keep it in this format, as something that's inbetween the season of AoS.

I wonder if they could introduce some post-war obscure heroes...like maybe characters from the First Line.

I'm surprised you're taking that statement as a 'fix' because it creates another continuity issue because the SSR Director in the One-Shot is named John Lynch, while the SSR Director in the series is named Roger Dooley.
