Something about this seemed off. It was like he was mocking the audience

It almost felt like he didn't really want to be there, as if he were wasting his time being there.

Miley and especially Kanye performing were unnecessary. John Goodman and Christopher Walken were wasted. Murphy's "thing" felt like a huge **** you moment and was pointless. All in all a mixed showing I felt, just like the last few seasons.

I actually thought "Goodman's dozen" was one of the best lines of the whole show.

All you guys complaining about Eddie Murphy, did you have you're TV's muted or something? He was jokingly clapping saying "Ooooh, keep it going for Eddie".

I wanted him to do more, he deserved to.

I think its more so that when you have Eddie Murphy back after all this time you expect him to do something classic. You WANT him to do some kind of throwback. He did nothing. Especially after that big build up by Chris Rock. Perhaps this was all just a gag that was lost on me.

Kanye's performance brought things to a screeching halt. Guy is terrible.

I want to know why Molly Shannon only had like 1 min of screentime.

where was Cheri Oteri??? really wanted to see her and Jim Breur, but overall I think they did a really good job, love how most of the new sketches that they did were from the 90's (celebrity jeopardy, the singing couple with will ferrel and ana gasteyer)

agreed, you can tell that woman really loved her time on SNL and SNL as a whole, even in the end part of the show with everyone gathered, she looked really happy to be here, wish she would come back more often shes one of the greats IMO

thats when you break? They better show the Lindsay Lohan Debbie Downer sketch with this

ETA: They didnt which is lame bc that sketch was a classic bc of them breaking

i think they didn't cuz a clip of it was in the opening clips

i would like to see a special just of shows where they "broke"

Yeah, the musical performances should've only been old white guys or middle america friendly entertainers. :o

Did you see Kanye's car wreck of a "show?" I dunno man, nothing Kanye will ever do will be worth his weight in ********. And this isn't coming from a middle america family friendly mind set. This is coming from a guy that doesn't like pretentious jerks.

Molly Shannon was always one of my favorites. (i'm 50!). so i'm glad she at least got to be in the monologue. I noticed Dratch in the audience and it was nice to see Ana back as one of the Culps.
I really missed Cheri Oteri though. after seeing Ferrell on Fallon in the lip sync battle, i think i would've died at a Spartan Cheerleaders sketch. that could've been gold

Loved how much attention the original crew got. Biggest shame is that Gilda Radner wasn't there. Everything that lady did cracked me up, hard.

Dratch appeared as Debbie Downer in the opening with Fallon and Timberlake.

yeah as a clip, i meant as part of a scene.

you are totally right. i remember it now!

where was Cheri Oteri???

She wasn't originally going to be there as she had a prior commitment to something, then was able to work out her plans at the last minute to attend. Not enough time for her to coordinate a sketch though.

The musical performances should have been people that actually have contributed to the show's history in a meaningful matter, hence Simon and McCartney. I can give a pass to Miley being there since she has hosted recently, but musically eh. No one should add to inflating Kanye's ego, he deserves ****, period.

You can only fit so many people into a 3 1/2 hour show without it being a giant clusterf**k.

No love for Nick Ocean's tribute to that basta-- Jaws?

I thought that part was great. It was just awesome to have Bill Murray participate.

LOL...posts like these are exactly why Kanye and Miley will continue getting called to Anniversary shows, telethons, etc. People don't understand that the more you hate on certain celebrities, the more relevant they become in pop culture.

Either way, I'm glad that the show actually put on acts that are relevant now instead of just having performers like Paul Simon or Paul McCartney.
