This issue was amazing!!!!! All the banter between carol and rocket, classic. And all the flerken goodness, omg! lol.

Honestly, the art was fantastic BUT, i seriously missed lopez's art! dont get me wrong, this book was beautiful but noone can draw facial expressions quite like david lopez and i really really really missed them in this issue. The fill in artist did a good job, but its not quite the same for me i guess david lopez has us all spoiled. Just look at Davids cover, i mean come on!!!!

all in all, fantastic fun issue! great art, and kelly sue continues to knock it out.

Love love love love love love love this book. And David Lopez has solidified his spot as, in my humble opinion, the image in my head that i have when someone says carol danvers. I need to get my hands on some original art and some posters of her that hes done.

I'm iffy on Carol's new suit. I hope the movie goes with a mix of his Ms. Marvel suit and her Captain Marvel suit.

Current suit all the way for me, or even something more like a female version of Mar-Vell's suit. I never liked her Ms. Marvel costume.

Why?! She built up a solid fan base as a writer through Captain Marvel and has given the character a bigger profile.

Ran out of ideas I guess.

Any idea who Marvel may choose to replace her?

I hate the hair. It sucks. A so-called military haircut does not necessarily mean a butch haircut. Since when did comic books have to be so grounded in practicality?

I did enjoy Agent Carter, so I will be intersted in their take on Carol.

they're gender swapping Carol to a dude?
weird

now, I'm not saying the mono-kini was a good look, but this is clearly overcompensating in the other direction
what was wrong with the current costume?

Agreed.

I feel that KSD wants to move on to other projects(at image) as she seems tired of writing Captain Marvel, who she has made into a Space Cop and very much isolated her from her friends.

I was going to post this in the question thread, but here is good as any:

I has come to my attention that Carol and Spidey had a thing going on. Is it still going on?

I understand that writer Brian Reed was setting up the relationship between Carol and Peter. But the moment when Slott was awarded the solo spot as Spider-Man writer, the idea was shot down. And once Kelly Sue DeCornick was made writer of Captain Marvel, she was not into the idea of Peter and Carol(because he was too much on a man-child for Carol) and felt that Peter belonged with Mary Jane.

It would seem that KSD was never interested in Spider-Man at all. Which was why Carol's friendship with Peter was never addressed during her run with Captain Marvel. Thus, she replaced Peter with War Machine as Carol's love interest.

Not a fan of the haircut, but the new costume is a nice refinement of the redesign. I like it. I might actually try this out. I dropped DeConnick's run shortly into the new series because, as much as I admire her effort and her dedication to the character, her writing just never really grabbed me.

As far as the actual direction of the new series, it makes me worry a bit about why Carol's doing all this instead of, say, Abigail Brand and SWORD. Why not just combine them and make Carol the top Agent of SWORD under Brand as her Fury/Coulson? That would've been a cool take. But no, apparently we get no mention of SWORD and a bunch of Carol-branded spaceships because of reasons. But I'll still give it a try.

Also, I'm pretty sure DeConnick mentioned in an interview or Twitter post or something that she's leaving because, with the movie coming, she'd have to commit to long-term plans with the character--complete with studio interference--for years.

I really hope they don't go with that haircut, it looks ridiculous. If Anne Hathaway's Selina Kyle could get away long hair in "The Dark Knight Rises" there's no reason why Carol Danvers can't in her own bloody film.

If that's how she feels then best of luck to her.

Shame that SWORD won't exist when the universe gets restarted.

The helmet.

so they can just stop doing the helmet, that simple
I preferred the current costume's more classic military touches
the new one is too "every-superhero-needs-batman's-body-armor" for me

and that's to say nothing of the Biebs 'do

I really hate the current costuming trend, and hope it will one day be mocked like the pouches-and-shoulder-pads 90's are today

I love the new hair! Anka is the ultimate!

Agreed. Maybe Dr.Strange will reinforce his levitation cloak with steel plating next.

Military women don't all sport butch cuts. They can have long hair it just has to be done up to keep it out of the face and neck.

Exactly. Here's hoping they realize that.

I wish I was shocked to see people here mad because a female character has short hair. But I'm not.
