The Walking Dead Fear the Walking Dead General Discussion Thread

Didn't Daniel burn in the fire?

The show seems to be ambiguous about Daniel's fate. I believe he's still alive b/c there isn't much proof that he isn't, imo. Also is Celia dead? B/c we never saw the walkers eat her. It cut away before the walkers swarmed her. We didn't see her walker roaming in that cellar either. Not to mention we were never shown what was left of her remains as proof she was dead. :hmm

I think Daniel is alive and Celia is dead. At least one of the ambiguous deaths needs to have been real.

I really like how this show highlights the difference in attitude between American and Mexican culture in regards to the Zombie Apocalypse. Americans are freaking out while the Mexicans just see it as their relatives returning to them. El Dia de los Muertos has basically been preparing them for this moment for their whole lives.

The zombies falling off the balconies was pretty cool.

Yup,he's just a little punk. :( This episode has been pretty snoozy so far.

This show is way to young to have split up the group so quickly.

Maybe they wanted to show how different outside groups were dealing with the situation. :( Either way they aren't going about it in a very interesting way.

The first season was only 6 episodes so we barely have gotten to get an actual connection with the characters, especially when this group of characters isn't the strongest, splitting them up was just stupid.

It took me with days to get through the latest episode but anyway, Chris is such a s*** head and I hope he gets killed off in the most painful way imaginable. Can't stand the f***er.

Chris seems to be too far gone. I doubt Travis can save him now. If he isn't careful Chris might try to kill him again and succeed.

I thought the backstory behind that hotel and it's guests was interesting.

Also this episode confirmed when the zombie outbreak/pandemic started which is 2010. Even though the TWD tv show premiered in 2010 the writers never confirmed the year it took place before/after Rick's coma. I appreciated that the writers never revealed that in TWD. And believed the FTWD writers should've stayed cryptic about that bit of info as well. Now that we know the year it began that means TWD show takes place somewhere in 2012 atm.

And where's Ophelia? It was odd that she abruptly disappeared. I assumed that maybe there were other survivors in the hotel that she came across. Hopefully they'll reveal what happened to her in the next ep.

I'm surprised by all the negativity surrounding this week's episode. I thought it was really good. The dudebros Chris ran into are definitely bad news. I wonder how long until he realizes it...or will he become their leader? Imagine if we're watching the birth of a supervillain.

I can see Chris either becoming their leader or they flee because he's too crazy even for them. Travis will eventually have to put him down.

The hotel factions. Gotta side with the guests who were ****ed over. Alicia and the gang better have one eye on the guest group and the other on the hotel manager.

As for Ophelia... Daniel caught up to them with the boat he took and got his daughter out of harm's way. Wishful thinking, I know. :o

I don't see how the Travis and Chris story will end in a satisfying way. I want Chris to die cause he's just a punk, if they try and make an emotional event out of Travis having to kill him though Travis wont learn anything he'll just get more depressed and useless than he already is, he needs to start showing some leadership skills and start showing he can kill walkers and survive long term. Plus we've seen that dance already with Rick/Shane. Though I'd accept Chris killing his dad if it meant Chris leaving the show and being evil elsewhere where we forget about him.

Strand's story has run it's course and now that his boat secrets are out and past, he's pretty boring.

Nick is tolerable but I'm hesitant to say he's a true survivor, or he's just very lucky.

Madison's story needs to evolve more, connect her to the original shows cast somehow. But kind of tired at looking at her same facial expression she seems to always have.

Daniel was the best the show had going til he started losing his mind a bit, they are making the mistake by either making his death vague or worse he's alive and well being bad ass off screen somewhere.

I can see Chris becoming the leader of those frat boys. They seem to admire him and his zombie slaying. Even though that couple that owned that abandoned store were executed. I'm not entirely sure if Chris' new best friends killed them or anyone for that matter. Plus unlike Chris (I'm not defending his actions during this moment) they hesitated to shoot that man, who owned that farm after he wounded one of them. Those boys seem a little skittish. I can see Chris stepping up as their leader.

It'll be interesting to see how Travis resolve this issue with his son. Chris seems to embrace the next world, while Travis embraces the old world. He'll either kill or abandon Chris or vice versa.

The dudebros probably killed the owners of that store. So far Chris hasn't done anything crazier than them. I think it might be the opposite, and Chris will grow a conscience and turn on them.

I'm glad they didn't cop out on how Madison and Strand escaped that bar overrun by the infected. However they sobered up very quickly when they did.

I'd rather we were actually shown Nick succeed in duping that gang with the oxycodone (or whatever it's called) he tampered with. Instead of having him tell us how the deal went down, which cheapened it, imo. Especially after all that buildup of showing Nick cutting the oxy as well as all that talk about the gang (who threatened to chop off Nick's arm the last time) being dangerous prior to the meeting. It took away the tension, imo. Nick describing to Alejandro how the deal went made it seem too effortless for him. I rather we were shown how the deal went down with Nick coming out victorious or not. Maybe this is setting up an episode where they figure out that Nick cut the oxy. And b/c of his actions Alejandro's compound will be in danger.

I'm still not buying Alejandro's story about being immune from the bite/infection. It doesn't really add up. Plus what we know from TWD is that everyone is infected.

The plan to lure the walkers out of the hotel, onto the pier, and into the river was clever. They just have to make sure none of 'em float back on shore.

Where the heck is Ofelia? They're really going to drag out her disappearance? I thought the point of Salazar's absence in 2b was for Ofelia to grow as a character. As well as her becoming more independent b/c she can't rely on him anymore. She's appeared in one episode in 2b so far and hasn't done much but give up, disappear, and possibly abandoned Madison. Strand and Alicia. There's still 4 episodes left and one of 'em will probably be centered around her character. So we'll see.

Going to watch the episode again tonight when I get off. The character development sucks! I mean, I read the comments on here and other forums and it's the same: the characters here are not likable at all. The one guy who has a chance is Travis but I swear he comes off weak at times. Nick and Chris are just not likable guys at all. ESPECIALLY Chris. There's no good about him at all.

I just can't watch this show anymore :(

I tried so hard to give it a chance and really get immersed in the story - but the creative team have just made that way too hard. I can barely even skip through an episode and find anything interesting.

Such a shame.

I'm getting that way. I'm REALLY trying to like this show but the writers just don't get it! :argh: The recent numbers for the show haven't been posted because I've been searching for them online and can't find them yet. But there seems to be a downward trend with the show. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear_the_Walking_Dead

Why they didn't do a show with Lee and Clementine starting the plague is beyond me. They are likable characters unlike the ones we have here. Alas, will continue to watch because right now nothing else is on. Just wish these mofo's would get it!

Oh wow, a show with Clem would have been a great idea. The show needs a solid "good" relationship - I think it's massively lacking.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's bored out of their mind. I don't even pay much attention to the show at this point. I'll just have it on in the background while I get work done. It's not like season two of TWD was that exciting either but at least I have a **** about the characters. Here I'm just starting to question why I still bother but I'll finish this season through. Maybe there's a chance it can get better someday, but if it ended now I wouldn't miss it, especially since they botched a good idea for a spinoff by populating it with such bland and boring characters and plots.

It's a fairly incredible botch really, when you consider the parent series is so damn good (regardless of the previous season cliffhanger)
