So it looks like the cast, and Will Smith are the biggest motivators for Gibson. I will say that despite the messy plot, the best part of SS by far where the characters.
 
Mark Hughes in previous articles mentioned WB might want to turn SS2 into a Deadshot solo, or do another Deadshot movie separately, either way, Mel's into the redemption type stories which is what Will Smith likes to do, so if Mel's in, and provide a pivot around Will Smith's arc with a solid story, war/mission type background, with the current cast including Harley Quinn and Viola Davis, it'd be a must see event film.

Ok might be a bit hyperbolic but hey. If he does it.
 
What if WB get Ben Affleck to direct Suicide Squad 2 ?

Mel Gibson is a talented director, I will acknowledge that.
 
Hopefully if Mel focuses more on Deadshot he will also focus more on Boomer. I love their dynamic from the original Ostrander run and would love to see it on screen. #JaiBless
 
Speaking of, for someone who has not read any Squad comics what would you guys suggest? Closest I've come iss reading Secret Six.
 
Last week Mel Gibson said on his next project: "I'm working on a directing gig that I want to get going in Europe". Got acting too (Cops movie with Vince Vaughn and Daddy's Home sequel). He'll be busy in the next year or two. I think that means we will not see Suicide Squad 2 till 2020. If he'll sign, of course.
 
I don't like Mel as a person. I dont want a director who doesn't respect the source material to direct a DC movie. But I can put my personal grudges or displeasure aside if he makes a kick-ass SS movie. I am not that invested in SS2 now so whatever.
 
Jody is so funny. He's the only person I watch when it comes to DC. Because is funny, but he's also smart. And he cares.

Where did you get the idea that WB wasn't giving Ben everything he needed to make The Batman? From everything I read Ben decided to opt out because
he came to the conclusion it was to big of a task for him to handle with all the other things the movie requires and things going on in his personal life.

I hope it's true. Mel Gibson is perfect for this movie.
 
What a huge get this would be

Never in my wildest dreams did I think Mel would ever consider something like this. Usually I'd say something like "he could be doing something else" but clearly WB is trying to make him one of their guys ala Affleck and Eastwood.

With the way the first movie ended and Harley is going to be in Gotham City Sirens, I don't think she will be in Suicide Squad 2. Unless GCS ends with her being captured and sent back to Belle Reve.

I think Harley is half the reason, if not more, people saw the first one. Doing a SS2 without Harley probably wouldn't draw that many people.
 
(I dont think Mel takes the job)

If you think the clickbaiters are having a field day now...SS2 with Mel will have new rumors every few hours! Every Friday someone will report Mel got drunk after shooting and went on racist tirades while watching dailies!

I want to like Mel as much as I used too (he was a fave of mine) but he is just so loony it is difficult. At least Tom Cruise is charming...

What if the worlds gonna end tommorow and Affleck found out that is Zack Snyder's fault and thus he wants out of the DCEU? Mah boy is wicked smaht
