Not to instill any unneeded fear, but Mario's comments are a little bit old. He mentioned on Twitter earlier he'll give an update on the matter on a podcast tomorrow.
But from what I gather, the news he's
probably going to say is this: Matt is still working on The Batman, but some folks higher up are getting a bit impatient with him and want to make the movie sooner rather than later. That doesn't mean he's out, but it could possibly result in some problems down the road.
Take all of that with a grain of salt though. But yeah, Campea's gone off the deep end with this.
I will say though, despite my championing of Reeves as the director for Batman, I don't think it'd necessarily be all doom and gloom if he does leave the project in the near(ish) future. There's other directors out there that they could get to replace him and do a great job with the film, just like how Affleck isn't irreplaceable as Batman either.
Hell, if the worst does happen and Reeves departs and things fall through with Jake Gyllenhaal, my dream pick would be Warner Bros nabs Alex Garland for Batman with the agreement that he'll get to make Swamp Thing afterward and Garland brings on his homeboy Oscar Isaac to replace Affleck as Batman.
But that's all speculation and wishing on my part.
