Where are all the Marvel games??

How did it improve upon the story? Again, you can finish the entire game and not learn anything about Gambit, older Bishop and Sunfire, unless they are featured in a cgi flashback - guess what - they weren't. It made things more convenient but I prefer story and build up. Also, the alternate costumes looked much worse obviously because due to the downgraded ingame graphics.
I havent played the games in over a decade so I dont recall details about the story. Your complaint is about character development, not story, which I'll have to take your word for it but when you have a large cast in a game like this, Im less concerned about that. I do recall the story being larger in scale in the second game which I dug. I preferred the RPG mechanics more in the second game and greater influence on build of the character.

The graphics to the two games were comparable. I didnt notice any significant difference in character models but the level design was improved in the second game over the first.

Yeah I remember XML2 had a lot of other improvements, but I do remember them having some odd spots too...even if I recall they didn't really go into dark beast etc, it was a really odd choice to take. Overall the story was pretty solid though, but yeah there definitely was more room for character development but given that the game was pretty lengthy, and well, apocalypse is already a hard story to tell imo in the confines of a game, I was happy with it. Definitely think there should have been an XML3 before MUA1 or MUA2. (Not that I think it was bad, just I think it would have allowed for more improvements for both those games.)

I also think its kind of sad, outside of spider-man, I think those are the best marvel games to-date (unless you count capcom vs marvel)

In Xml1 we even got flashback missions and the Shadow King side story.
That was my favorite thing in the game and why I have a soft spot for that. The characters came with their classic outfits as well so playing those missions was a delight.

While XML2's story was bigger in scope, Legend's made me care more and feel way more immersed.

That's why I want XML3, to delve even further in the X-Men mythos while enjoying a new adventure.

MCOC on a home console would be AMAZING!

The thing about Xml1 is almost every playable gets an introduction. You need to help Gambit first, rescue Colossus, encounter Psylocke during a street Sentinel attack before you get to play them. Emma gets an entrance and she needed to be there for the astral plane section. Magma meets the X-Men if you roam the mansion. Then there's a sub story arc with Havok, Shadow King, Illyana to spice things up from the Sentinel/Brotherhood plot.

In Xml2, you can play Bishop and Sunfire the entire time and you won't get a specific scene for them. Xml1 had more cinematics while Xml2 only had like 7 to 8. You can finish an entire act without seeing proper cinematics in between and you would really missed a lot of the dialogues with that. Like they just lumped more villains/characters in the game but they don't really have their grand entrance, its like they were there for the sake of featuring more characters. I get that Xml2 has better features, like more powers, costumes, you can go back to previous stages/locations but Xml1 has the story, the line up was more developed, the playables live up to the game title, the graphics are better, roaming the X-Men mansion was so refreshing at the time and it really took the X-Men games to another level which the future Marvel games would later copy.

A xml3 with the story/structure of Xml1 and gameplay enhancements of Xml2 would have been nice! Plus with Angel/Havok finally as playables.

Really surprised with the amount of games made and sold that one of the biggest money making genres hardly has any stock in home game consoles.

The gap of time from the Rocksteady Batman games to the new Spiderman game was YEARS in between. How many more years do we wait for another decent game?????

Yeah even like, a cute indie thing would be more fun. Crystal and lockjaw on adventures etc

Well for one thing great games take a number of years to develop. If you licence a character to a great game developer you don't put a deadline on them like it's a movie tie-in game. You get out of their way and give them the creative freedom to make something great.

After Marvel removed Activision's Marvel games online, I can see why developers would prefer to use their own ips than license Marvel characters.

WB though has their own game developers. There should have been an Arkham kind of game for Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Superman by now, or at least in the works and not just these Lego games that I don't care to play.

Thank you. At this point Lego is the only one pumping out cb related games consistently. Meh.

Hey you know who would make a great video game character? Namor

Do you really enjoy the characters and their environment looking blocky? To me presentation is a big thing and I don't want the characters to look like toys. And I prefer Marvel games to be on par with the character models of games like Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, Batman Arkham and Resident Evil.

I enjoyed the Atlantis section of MCU.

I enjoyed the Atlantis section of MCU.

Well, I enjoy the diversity of the games. Obviously I want it all but I’ll take what I can get. Plus the good thing about the LEGO games is you get to play as characters that normally wouldn’t get a fair go til they get their own movie

Is the Lego games even that enjoyable? I was kinda tempted to buy the Lego collection since the roster is huge but I recently watched a walkthrough of Lego Marvel Heroes and I just still cannot deal with the character designs and blocky environment design. And I stopped watching after 1 video.

I'm getting Spider-Man 2018 soon maybe after I finished Ac Odyssey (though I still haven't decided if I would it get first before Last of Us and Horizon Zero Dawn).

the lego games are enjoyable they even have inside jokes for comic fan's and appeal to new comers as well. all it mean is your might is locked a bit. (no I'm not insulting you) it just mean your int more realistic shapes for the characters. but it's making you miss out on the other good quality s to that game series. they have alot of good game play & original idea's

Oh yeah they’re a hoot. Very zany and fun with some great dlc

Interesting. I wonder if they will add new characters like they did when they tried to crack Korea

With the advent of "looters shooters" and the popularity of "dungeon crawlers" I just dont understand why we haven't had proper MUA3 yet.

Itd be a license to print money.

I believe that's what the Avengers Project is going to be.
