But here's the question, does anyone wanna see a mini-series about evil Superman though? They already got something similar hinted at in Superman and Lois, a taste of it in Elseworlds, and not to mention, The Boys. One of the main criticisms of the Snyderverse is not enough Superman doing Superman things. A Knightmare series isn't exactly gonna help that.

The point I think he or she had was there could be a miniseries vs. Another 3 to 4 hour movie; a tie-in special sort of like Gaurdians 3 is having just not in miniseries format.

I would like to see a miniseries showcasing characters from many years ago. The war scene with Darkseid was awesome.

A glimpse at early Krypton would be fun to see as well. For as much as people like to complain about not seeing Clark go to the store to buy milk, Krypton technology and backstory is more intricate and involved than any depiction I have seen. There's a lot of background information from the whole creative process just waiting to be showcased some more.

There doesn't need to be 300 to 400 million to give fans a little something after this.

I think doing the Knightmare that way could work. His JL3 that he has talked about....less optimistic. That would need serious cash. But, you can do a cool Knightmare based movie on a lower budget than JL had. Just would have to be more about tension than actual action
Yeah, the JL part would probably need more money than the Knightmare, but in a mini-series format they'd be able to incentivize people to sub for two months to see it instead of one if they wanted to watch it as it released.

Evil Superman is my bread n butter. Injustice League Superman is what a real life Superman would be like, ya'll bald Supe heads cant admit it, but tis' the goddamn truth. Get them kryptonite bullets ready!

Well, Disney didn't announce their entire slate of 2021 movies with pretty much everyone involved in them learning this from the trades, so I can't say they're there yet.

No of course not...but I will not stopping hammering Nolan for his Chicken Little BS after WB bent over backwards to allow him to have TENET in the theaters. (which pushed back WW84 like 4 times although that may have been a blessing ;) )

That is why my tongue was somewhat in my cheek. I am being hyperbolic because I actually said this is what would happen. As soon as projections last year had the fall likely being the mass opening Di$ney was going to be forced to do this and unlike WB they would charge for it like they did with Mulan. Honestly WB made the right decision the wrong way. (which I also said at the time) Most of the slate sucks anyways ;)

We arent at a place where studios are going to do what Nolan and a few others worry about. We did move way closer though...the Pandemic has shifted things all over the place including my job teaching college. But no studio is going to just walk away from a possible billion dollar franchise...not yet.

As long as they keep evil bald Superman on hbo max while Superman shines on the big and silver screens, I give that bald man my blessing

snap away, my friend! Snap away. I wanna see Bald Cavill turn pipsqueak Eisenberg to dust. Leto too. Would be grand.

Btw I just wanna add one thing to my prior post though. The “non comic book fan” people I’ve been talking to in real life so far who have seen it have really liked the movie and have asked “are they gonna make more? I wanna see more!”

So, I dunno about you guys and your circle of friends but i suspect theres gonna be a big contingent of people out there wondering if more is coming. Which is a very good thing.

I honestly dont know if anyone has watched it yet. Girlfriend wants to but no way she can sit still for 4 hours so likely we will watch it in multiple sittings which is fine. I am not sure how much she will like it but she for sure will enjoy WW, Cavill and Momoa. She dug all their films.

Just picturing Cavill sneaking into his trailer between scenes, writing his own script for a film that’ll never get made while Zack looks for him on set

“has anyone seen Henry? We have to fix his wig before we shoot the scene where he turns Lex into a kebob”

Well if he does the Knightmare and it works I could see them greenlighting 3. That would be a few years down the road the infrastructure for doing it will be more efficient. I think he is out to lunch if he thinks they would allow him to do back to back films and I dont think many of the actors would be down for it either. And the cost would mean WB likely takes a bath unless they charge like Di$ney.

Honestly it would be better off as a mini series IMHO.

Or they can add more human characters as the villains in the Knightmare setting, and the action scenes would be more superhuman stuntmen fighting each other rather than CGI.

Knightmare could work especially since Snyder there was supposed to have a Rashomon like scene of the death of Robin. Joker/Batman having different perspectives on what happened that night.

Instead of a scene just extend it further.

Could even make it about how they all got to that point in the Knightmare. Meanwhile trying to execute their mission.

More evidence that ZSJL was a massive success on HBO Max. BTW according to this data it beat out WW84 so I think until Warner Brothers chimes in with the official numbers like how they did when they allowed Neilson to tap into their data for WW84 showing how successful it was on the platform, we wont know just how succesful it was. But with these little independent firms chiming in like SambiaTV and Reelgood its looking like it was a massive hit!

according to reelgood Wandavision edged out ZSJL for biggest superhero premier but remember this is just one firm showing their data. their info is limited just like SambaTV. Remember Disney says Falcon and The Winter Soldier is their most successful premiere. So obviously it shows these independent firms don't have the whole picture. But they do help give us an idea of where things are before the studios decide to make their announcements.

Nolan wasnt even affected though. His movie was the one that helped them decide to go to streaming lol.

Make no mistake. I think this thing is shaping up to be a BIG hit for them. Bigger than WW84. Its already penetrating the social media zeitgeist and the general buzz around it is good. Its just a matter of how all this success turns into subscribers now.

True, but they need to have Superman at least in the ending.

i refuse to ever watch the whedon cut again.

rewatching the snyder cut and seeing how competently and confidently it was made...it almost seems like whedon was self-sabotaging.

i'm not a conspiracy theorist about this stuff...but holy cow...it felt like whedon was just angry / cynical and decided to dgaf about it all and just got lazy. just throw whatever his first thought was up on the screen.

the same can be said about elfman's composing of the score too. lol

You do when you want to move on from something. WB is past Snyder leading the way of DC characters.

Wan will do just fine with Amber Heard just as Zack BROUGHT BACK Amber to shoot additional scenes. Im sure Patty will do just fine with WW as well, people think it was boring but no where near what BvS did to the DC franchise.
You can thank the pandemic for that. Under normal circumstances WW84 was destined to underperform just as bad judging by how terrible it was received stateside and overseas

I swear, that opening scene with Superman's cries echoing out for all the world to hear, has to be one of the absolute best intro scenes for a comic book movie ever.

yup then it transitions to bruce wayne riding a horse through that icy landscape.
