Falcon and Winter Soldier Season 1, Episode 3: "Power Broker" (SPOILERS)

"I'm a Baron, Sam. My family was royalty until your friend destroyed my country."

He's a Baron and Sokovian royalty. Might've been a pertinent point when Tony was looking up his backstory that he was part of the Sokovian Royal Family.

Friday only stated that Zemo was a Colonel in the Sokovian Armed Force and he lead a black ops group known as EKO Scorpion. That doesn’t mean he wasn’t a Baron all along. I don’t see the re-con. Especially since many people of nobility and family of royalty have served in war.

As much as I laughed at that scene, I hope the implication is not that Bucky was used for sexual favours along with his fighting skills.

Just because there's already so much trauma. I'd hate to see them add that too.

Maybe Alexander Pierce was even more f****d up than we realised.

So one mysterious spot is left. Also intersting: The eyes of Wyatt Russel arent corssed out with red painting anymore.

It’s probably Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley. That changed once John Walker was introduced in episode two.

Another great episode indeed and is it just me or was the violence in this particular episode pretty damn brutal, especially the action sequences with Sharon?

As much flack as the MCU gets for humor and being too kiddie at times I really do appreciate when they are able to do more gritty stuff like this where they don't have to worry about shying away from the violence when its necessary.

It's great seeing Daniel Bruhl back as Zemo who is just as fantastic in the role as he was back in 2016 and while his team up with Sam and Bucky was unexpected I was loving every minute of it.

Also, I loved all the Madripoor stuff which felt very much like something out of John Wick and had a very different/unique vibe than what we have become use to seeing in the MCU.

This was probably the best ep in all Marvel TV.

I'm glad that they are dealing with the fallout from the Blip. I really hated the way Spider-man laughed it off as a joke.

IMO, it seems like Far From Home was easing people into the concept of the Blip. They used comedy to get people comfortable with it and now they are getting into the weeds.

Love that Sharon Carter has reached the "Mark Waid Era" version.

I loved Madripoor too. As an X-Men fanatic, I was stoked to see it.

Showrunner Malcolm Spellman has recently said "Hands down, [episode] five, it just gets real, and five, you're going to cry."

if boseman shows up in this show, it's going to be super sad.

unless it's an isaiah bradley backstory.

Bucky going into WS mode:

I love that we're getting into more of a backstory for him. In CATWS and Civil War, he seemed to be just a mindless killer, absent a real personality. But with this episode, we see that people knew him, he was well traveled, and he's a bit of an art nerd.

It just makes me wonder, when he was thawed out to do a mission, if he ever took his time going back to Hydra and partied in a bar or something.

"I know you wanted this" yea Walker definitely wants the Serum and I think he's going to get it, but it will mess him up.

Zemo didn't waste anytime trying out those trigger words. Daniel Brühl is so good in this role, anytime he speaks Zemo has my attention and I always feel like he's planning something. One of the best villains in the MCU. And Bucky is taking a huge risk breaking this man out of prison, I hope it doesn't come back to bite him.

"Something is still in there" I hope they are not foreshadowing Bucky becoming the Soldier again. But it makes sense that being the WS is not something he could just shake off. Sebastian Stan's acting in the prison scene was also great, especially when he said that his time as TWS even when he was unconscious wasn't a picnic.

"Let me just walk you through a hypothetical, can I walk you through a hypothetical?"
"What did you do?" :funny:

He's actually a Baron.

Yea Zemo is right about Symbols and Icons, we forget their flaws. Steve was a good man, but he wasn't perfect. Sometimes people (fans and the characters) forget that. That scene showed us why Zemo hates super powered people and I can't say I blame him for feeling that way.

What the hell was that with the snake :barf:Poor Sam.

Oh hi Sharon.

I knew Zemo would kill that scientist, someone like that is dangerous. There's no way a man like Zemo would let him live.

"You're not gonna move your sit up are you?"
"No". :funny:

Ayo! Of course they would be pissed Bucky let Zemo out.

That was a very good episode, but I liked the last one better. Looking forward to next week, I wander how Bucky is going to get out of this one.

On theory I ready on line is that
Bucky is working for the Wakandans, who wanted Zemo out of prison so they could execute him

Yes. YES. Say what you will about Zemo in Civil War but this is why I was fine with his portrayal since he was left alive. Because there was a chance we would get a better realized version later. And this is so great. Bruhl is fantastic.

Sharon being the angry Agent 13 from the comics we all know and love (or loathe).

Great episode.

That's actually a good theory, I guess we'll see next week.

Power Broker is an actual character from the comics so I'm sure he will be.

Maybe we‘ve already seen him...or her
It was all too easy for Sharon

Zemo as a villain in BP 2 would have been great, I guess they could still do it but wouldn't have that same impact with a different Panther.

Glad the bodyguard is still going to be around the MCU.

There is a lot of fanfiction that's decided that was the case.

Given Hydra's overall ickiness, and Bucky's attractiveness, unfortunately I don't think we can completely rule out the possibility, though I doubt they'd actually go "there".
