LOKI General Discussion Thread

Yeah...we had similar episode length leaks for the premiere of F&WS - and they turned out fake
But it sure will be around that length.

Adam Lance Garcia on his Twitter said that the show more or less confirms that another Marvel show didn’t happen, which I’m guessing is possibly referring Agents of Shield’s non-canonicity to the MCU.

Honestly, thank god, because, as much as I liked that show, I’m sick and tired of hearing lots of AOS fans insisting on the canonicity of the show and propping it up like it’s the best thing Marvel’s ever done, has the best characters and deserves to be included. The self-importance of the show to prop up Coulson’s importance to the MCU also makes me roll my eyes.

Seeing as how the show was completed after months off, I hope that the ending of the show isn't going to be restricted by COVID-19 limitations that made the finales of WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier rushed and underwhelming in the eyes of many.

This feels a bit weird for a show that's specifically about an alternate timeline version of a character in the multiverse. What even is "canon" then? Because we're not watching a single continuous world. It feels like it would be very easy to have the events of AoS diverge from the "main" timeline at some point (and I have believed for this to at least have been the case since the season 5 finale). Could that then not be equally as canon as this Loki in the TVA is?

Mobius seems like a typical government agency guy. But I'm willing to bet his got more to him than meet the eye.
My initial thought was that someone, maybe Mobius, would be another Asgardian in disguise. Or maybe even Kang.

Definitely think you're right, about there being more to him than we see at first.

This is the show where I'm counting down the days until it premieres. Can't wait.

I saw the early review screeners. Great performances by Owen Wilson and Tom Hiddleston. They are definitely the highlights fo the series thus far.

I'd say he's pragmatic, inquisitive, compassionate and very good at his job. He's not a 9 to 5 desk jockey. I think it's a great performance by Owen Wilson. It's not a typical Owen Wilson type of role, but he brings his unique style to it. If that makes any sense.

They already took care of this by putting it in another timeline. The MCU now has at least 100 timelines, only one of which is canon. If you delete AOS from canon you still have at least 97 timelines. So what's the big deal keeping it canon?
Timeline 1: Movies
Timeline 2: Steve and Peggy
Timeline 3: Nebula, Gamora, Thanos jump out of Timeline 1. In this scenerio GOTG and Infinity War never happen.
Timeline 4: Loki steals the Tesseract, disrupting Timeline 1 after Avengers
Timeline 5: AOS (it left Timeline 1 somewhere after Civil War, although this could get reconned by Marvel)
Timeline 6: AOS Earth destroyed by Quake
Timeline 7: AOS early Shield destroyed by Cronicoms
Timeline 8 thru 100: "Dormamu, I've come to bargain scenes" created a pile of timelines with most Earthlings dead.

What about

What about Endgame? ;)

the dormamu "timelines" are just loops that end as soon as he rewinds back

This has been one of my most anticipated of the MCU shows without a doubt. Can’t wait for tomorrow!

I am looking forward to it to.

I think it will be a bigger hit than Wanda and Falcon since people love Hiddelston. Some that don't even follow every MCU thing will watch for him.

Yeah Owen Wilson is likable but to make him a villain or just opposing side would be a bit of a twist.

As someone who has waited for any reference to the FF for years, I'm hoping for a Mobius/Kang connection and some clue to how the FF will be introduced/presented.
Been looking forward but I always limit exposure in case of spoilers. I never really thought about Kang being involved, I would love them to get him in the movies somehow. The show should be big enough to introduce and tease the character.

I live that they brought that line back.:D
