Endgame Thor/God of Thunder - Chris Hemsworth

I truly love Thor in Endgame.

Plus he lived he gets to continue on :D. so even if this didn't float your boat I'm sure they'll do more with him.

If anything, the biggest issue stems from the fact that Thor played no large role in defeating Thanos and undoing his snap in EG.

You need to be more honest, and simply acknowledge that your disappointment with EG Thor has negatively colored your perception of his past appereances.

I mean, either way, your more recent posts are, no offense, silly as all hell, but yeah, its better to be honest.

I mean I agree that Thor's portrayal in EG had left such a bad taste in my mouth that it's negatively affected his past appearances for me as well.

I mean EG is what we were all building up towards and even though Thor's story will likely continue past this chapter in the MCU, I feel like all of Thor's character development and accomplishments in past films were thrown out the window the moment they decided to make him into an obese joke.

Don't get me wrong; being obese isn't the issue here (I've finally realized that now). It's just how they treated his depression that made it into a big joke. The Russos and others can say all they want on how his depression was meant to be viewed as tragic but it wasn't played as such in the film. If they had gone more Logan and less Lebowski for his trauma then that would have been more effective.

The climax/peak of his character development in this film is so subtle and quick that you really don't feel its impact. And for the guy that's considered to be one of the BIG THREE of the MCU, he didn't contribute at all towards Thanos's defeat in EG. Carol did more to contribute in her short time on film than Thor did.

I just don't know how to watch his past films anymore, namely Infinity War, without thinking that it's all just a big waste of time because none of it is going to pay off in the end (which is how most people would describe the movie "Glass" as well).

I'm simultaneously excited as hell to see Thor interact more with the Guardians, but also kind of terrified about what Gunn will do with him

Gotta imagine he will play a large role in how they setup Warlock as a villain and/or defeat him.

Which, yes. There's an element of fear. If they just use Thor as fodder to show how strong Warlock is, doesnt bode well for the Thunder God. But if they use him because they need him because no one on the GotG is strong enough to go one on one with Warlock, then we are set. Could be a truly epic power showcase.

We'll maybe have Thor in GoG 3, intead of next Avengers installment

Stark, Romanoff, Vision are dead, Steve lives in the past
Remain official members:

Rhody,
Wanda,
Wilson,
Hulk,
Clint,
Thor,
Spidey
Cap Marvel
(Antman, Wasp, Bucky, Pepper as side-kick)

but no one seems to want to rebuilt Avengers. they will appear in next phase 4 movies and Disney series

Waititi and Hemsworth returning for Thor 4

Maybe we get Thor in GotG3, Thor 4 AND the next Avengers! I hope it isn’t a 100% new team. One or 2 holdovers would be great to give the team a sense of progression while keeping the link to the old team. Otherwise, with a totally new bunch of heroes they could call themselves anything, not just limited to Avengers.

Seems like the New Avengers will be:

-Cap: Sam
-Thor: Jane
-Widow: Yelena
-Hawkeye: Kate
-Iron Man: Spidey
-Plus Captain Marvel, Wanda, Scott and Hope or maybe Cassie, and possibly Banner in a backup role

I Iove how Stark references big lebowski Thor. It was pure genius on RDJ part to do that.

All the Thor's fans, uh Ragnarock fans, sorry for the mistake :)
You know the movie who portrays him like an idiot. The movie where he's incapable to beat Hela and Surtur. Incapable to prevent Ragnarok ?
You know the movie who shows that THE GOD OF THUNDER can be electrocuted ?

And where you were when Thor was useless in Avengers 1 ? also in Avengers 2 ? You know the movie where is beaten by a ****** robot ???

In Avengers 1, Hulk and Iron Man shine, in Avengers 2, Vision and Captain America shine, in IW, Thor and Doctor Strange shine and in Endgame, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Wanda and Iron Man shine. YOU UNDERSTAND? It's a turnover. But thor's fans don’t give a damn fuc*** Thor need to shine every time.

You understand that Thor can't shine in Endgame like in IW because if Thor shine too much, Iron Man and Captain America are useless ?? So, thor's fans don't give a fuc* if, for the last movie of the two mains characters of the MCU, they can't have the best scenes ?

My point is 80%-90% of the Thor's fans in this topic are in reality Ragnarock's fans. A movie where Thor literally do nothing. "But THor WaS NerFED iN ENDgamE".

Certainly not true, neither is your description of Ragnarok. Thor beats a lesser Surtur easily (real Surtur is beyond Thor in the comics as well, even capable of killing Odin) and Hela was invincible on Asgard so pretty clear why he couldn't beat a plot device. He beat up the Hulk worse than anyone had up until that point, he was actually portrayed as someone that knows a bit about the universe. The control discs on Sakaar weren't electro shocks, it was something that took out the nervous system, demonstrated by the black veins that came out of it, which electricity never has in the MCU.

It's fine to not like a film but to have to misrepresent it while expressing that opinion never makes you look good, and it becomes worse when you try to ridicule other people's opinions at the same time.

Man, people really don't pay attention to the films they watch.

1. Thor initially averts Ragnarok by defeating Surtur. And when Ragnarok eventually does happen, its because Thor wanted it to.
2. Thor easily ended his brother's rule on Asgard
3. Thor continuously outwitted anyone who got in his way. He couldn't beat Hela physically, so he used Surtur to do it. Valkyrie had the device that could free him from slavery, so he distracts her and gets close enough to steal it from her. Also manages to get the drop on Loki before he's betrayed by him again.
4. Beats up Hulk to the point where someone needs to interfere on Hulk's behalf.
5. Grows even more powerful than he's been up to that point, learning that he doesn't need to rely on his hammer.
6. Generally saved his people from a near unstoppable threat in Hela.

Gotta say, I wish we'd have seen this Thor in Infinity War/Endgame...the combo of Odin eyepatch plus huge laser gun makes him look like a proper badass Viking space king.

Yeah I wish they kept the patch... not that I like one-eyed Thor that much, but just to do that to him and then immediately revert it via cybernetic eye felt cheap

I don't always get Hemsworth
Ragnarok- he gets the Hair chopped because he was tired of sitting in makeup for an hour before filming, but then ends up with an eye patch which is less time intensive but probably way more annoying to work in
Infinity war- Eyepatch is gone, gets a cybernetic eye, so he no longer needs any time in the makeup chair
Endgame - Huge fatsuit plus beard and hair means he probably spent way more time getting ready before filming than he did in the early movies

like, how do you b***h one movie about prep time and then two movies later you're pulling a full Eddie Murphy in the Nutty Professor?

Yeah, all that somehow = nothing lol.

It was literally senseless for him to even lose the eye because he literally got a replacement in the very next film.. it's near enough one of the very first things he does as well. They should have at least let it play out for a couple of films at the very minimum, I'd have left it permanently, but I'd have had his hair grow back out.

One of the flaws with the MCU that I don't care for, too often they let things unfold in varying scales & then they somehow find a way to reel it back in.. the next thing I'm anticipating them reeling back in is [Spider-Man's identity reveal.].

The eyepatch was CGI’ed.

They tried a practical eyepatch however due to it's strapless design it was completely impractical & kept falling off.. based on what I remember reading anyway.

What i got from this comment is that you hate Ragnarok, Thor and his fans while simultaneously making somewhat of a valid point regarding who takes the spotlight in the MCU which i totally understand.

I have also commented on the fact that some fans demand too much and just can't be pleased regardless. This isn't the TCU aka Thor Cinematic Universe to demonstrate why some people have to chill a bit, Infinity War was basically Thor and Thanos film and the focus/spotlight was on him while on End Game he took a back seat to the characters that where "exiting" the MCU, needless to say that Thor's cinematic journey continues...

Regarding the Thor complaints. I'm both a Thor and Ragnarok fan.
Ragnarok does not portray Thor as an "idiot". Ragnarok breath life into the character, gave him the spotlight, made him cool, badass, funnier, gave him a relatable personality and perfectly set the table for his incredible appearance in Infinity War.

I could go on and on disputing the remaining of ur rant. But what's the point really... You have made it abundantly clear where you stand so everything else can be seen through that lens. It is what it is. ;)

Now on to something else... I saw a while back some people even articles mentioning that just because Captain America had lifted Mjolnir that he was as powerful as Thor because the hammer gave him so many of those incredible abilities... That's just a bit of nonsense if we're being honest with each other. A fight between a worthy Cap and even a hammerless Thor would go pretty much like this panels from a recent comic.
