Rate then Review Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

It was pretty good. 7.

After a few more rewatches, I guess I have to lower my answer to an 8 or a 7.5

Mostly it was a great tribute to Chadwick, with good action and a lot of highly charged emotional scenes, but the third act was a bit lackluster, with the final battle scene on the boat not being nearly as epic as it should've been. The fight between Shuri and Namor was very solid (though it was a bit dumb Namor didn't even try to throw her back towards the water). Also, biggest critique? Needed more M'Baku.

Finally got around to seeing this... I think I haven't really wanted to previously because it's hard to watch a Black Panther without Chadwick and T'Challa.

Anyway, honestly... it was boring. I didn't like it at all. I think it was probably a wonderful, therapeutic endeavour for the actors and crew involved with the first Black Panther and for that, it was worthwhile. However, I just found myself constantly checking how long was left because it seemed to go on and on and on...

By the end it felt nothing was really achieved and they'd just come to a bit of a stalemate. Yes, Shuri got Namor to yield but had he not, all her friends on the boat would no doubt have been killed as they were massively outnumbered. I can't help think everything could have been avoided had Ramona and Shuri just offered to help and defend Namor's people when he first approached them (seeing as that's what Shuri ultimately offered and he agreed to as a compromise)

By the end it just felt like nothing had really been gained/progressed, other than the existence of Namor and his people.

The only good part for me was Angela Bassett. Gutted they killed her off as she was the best character in it and the movie really felt flat whenever she wasn't on screen.

For me it's a 5/10... just completely average and I doubt I'll ever watch it again.

Yeah this went down a good bit on re-watch for me as well. I think as an emotional tribute to Chadwick it works. But it doesn't really apart from that.
