If Chicago can keep a core of playoff-performing talent together, the Bolts would be wise to follow the same model.
I refuse to give back the Cup until Edmonton forfeits their draft pick!
The changes that McJesus brought about in the Oilers organization is already enough. For me, even if he doesn't end up being anything spectacular, the overhaul Oilers fan have been looking for for 8 years is finally here.
Barring something unforeseen, commissioner Gary Bettman will emerge from today’s board of governors meeting at the Bellagio Hotel and announce that the league is opening a formal expansion process, according to several sources.
Bettman is expected to leave the process open-ended: The NHL is ready to entertain bids, but won’t commit to a specific number of teams. It will likely end up being two, but no guarantees will be made.
The significance of the announcement being made in Las Vegas shouldn't be lost on anyone. An arena is well on its way to completion here just off the strip behind the New York-New York casino and prospective owner Bill Foley has taken deposits for more than 11,500 season ticket
Doug Hamilton to the Flames...
That D is going to look really good next year.
Still can't believe the Oilers got the first pick again. NHL really needs to implement a rule where a team can only get a 1st pick once per every 5 years. The Oilers made little attempt to improve their team these past years. There's no reason a team should be that terrible for so long. They do a poor job of developing players too.
.
Oilers finished a distant 3rd worst this past season, it's not like they were actively tanking like Buffalo and to a lesser extent, Arizona. They just have good "lottery luck."
We finally got rid of Oshie! Good riddance!
Backstrom, Ovechkin, Oshie: the BOO line.
