supposedly it's most likely going to be "Black Knights" since the owner has strong ties to the US Army.

That's a badass name

Traded for him actually. Gave up a 1st and a 2nd in this year's draft. That seems like a lot.

Yeah, I thought this team would want to keep as many picks as possible considering they suck right now, but then I remembered Lamoriello was the GM I think he's trying to pull off a Cory Schneider 2.0

Shatty trade rumors with a bunch of teams.

Rumors are pretty crazy right now. Heard the Isles are trying to get Taylor Hall off of Edmonton

So, what are we looking at for names? The Las Vegas Outlaws? The Las Vegas High Rollers? The Las Vegas Neon Twitter Ninjas?

Best suggestions I've heard:

The Las Vegas Rat Pack

and

The Las Vegas Dealers (with the slogan "the house always wins").

I'd go with Las Vegas Aces.

You get the double meaning with both the casino industry as well as the aviation angle which has a long history in that part of Nevada.

I like that. Although, I remain biased to the "Rat Pack." The mascot alone would be amazing (I am envisioning an anthropomorphic rat, rocking the classic Sinatra Vegas look, dressed in a suit, tie and fedora).

So Elliot gets traded for nothing, and Shatty whw had a TON of value was OVER valued by Blues management and is still on the team. What a ******ed weekend for the Blues.

Out of all the available goaltenders out there, Elliot is the one I wanted the Flames to nab the most.

Some crazy trades today...

Oilers give Hall away...
Subban for Weber??? Preds got the short end on that deal...
Stamkos apparently staying with the Lightning... I'm genuinely shocked... :wow:

The Oilers didn't get nearly enough out of that trade.

I don't get the Oilers trade. Adam Larsson is a good get, but a 23YO defencemen who's going to be great one day is not what that team needs. I get that it's hard to get a Duncan Keith these days, but a good defence has to be a sum of its parts, and blowing your best trading asset on one guy is not a good move IMO.

I think Chiarelli tried. Eberle has almost no trade value because he's a lazy piece of ****. Yakupov cannot function properly on a team without any other Russians. We need Nuge as a second line centre.

The room has to be made for Lucic so either Hall or Ebs (and another) had to go. Hall would get us the most from a trade. Chiarelli knows he didn't get nearly enough but something had to be done.

What the Sam Hill happened today? Like boom. Wtf?

Crazy how all that went down in like 45 minutes

Although I will say, I think the Habs only win that deal in the short term. Weber is 4 years older than Subban and has an almost $2 million higher cap hit. Nashville's Top 4 D is going to be insane for years to come with Subban, Ellis, Ekholm, and Josi.

As for Hall/Larsson. I think Hall is a bit overrated and from many accounts is a pain in the ass to his teammates. Larsson is probably a bit underrated and defenseman usually take a bit longer to develop so he should just be really coming into his own. I think NJ still wins this deal but not by some unreasonably huge margin.

The Stamkos thing is really odd. That offer from Yzerman has been on the table for months, and he just now accepts it 48 hours before he hits the free agent market? Why wouldn't he just wait another couple days and see what teams were going to offer him? Or if Yzerman's offer was acceptable, why not take it months ago and save all the drama and uncertainty?

Hall isn't overrated at all. He had fire. He's an ******* off the ice, but he put his heart and soul into the Oilers.
