on my 3 playthroughs I lost Mordin on one and Miranda on another

I try to make sure everyone is loyal, Tali in the vent, Garrus leads the other squad

I passed the game again....Tali and Zaeed died! What the hell! Is it because of the people I chose to be on my team while Tali was in the vent system or what? I don't care for Zaeed but I don't want Tali to die.

Tali is usually the best person to send into the vents. Did you not open them in time?

I definitely opened the vents in time...she died when we were trying to close the doors. I had Mordin and Thane on my team. Maybe switch out Thane for Jacob? Weird though, that she ALWAYS ends up dying on me at that part.

I usually have Jack and Grunt with me and its usually Mordin that closes those doors

Your vent specialist will die even if he/she is loyal and ideal because of a not ideal choice for the second squad leader, have either Garrus, Miranda or Jacob.

The only person without a "position" I think is Thane.

Ive sent Grunt and Jacob to escort the crew back and they made that as well

I think if you choose anyone to escort the crew back they will make it.

Yes, I say Mordin because he has the highest chance of dying during Hold the Line.

I'm wondering how they are going to cut down on the characters in your group considering you have 12 from the 2nd one plus Ashley/Kaiden, Wrex and Liara from the 1st.

I'd like to see a few new characters. Maybe they should have let you, sacrifice some of them in the 2nd one instead of letting everyone survive.

I doubt Wrex will be recruitable in 2, he's busy doing important things with the Krogan.

I expect these to be the returning squadmates.

But there have to be new people to recruit considering almost everyone can die in the suicide mission.

Well we know that Ash/Kaidan and Liara plus at least 2 characters from ME2 are alive so that leaves us with 4. I figure if they add 3-4 to bring the number up to 7-8 that should be good enough to round out a team for ME3.

If you bring her along during the final mission and decide to blow the base up she tells Illusive Man when he tells her to take control of the situation that she quits.

As far as this goes...I wouldn't think Thane, Miranda, or Grunt would be in ME3. Thane, because he is dying-we might be informed of his death in the beginning or something along those lines. Miranda, as someone else has said, is really only there for the mission and don't even know if she cares about anything besides doing her job. What a ROBOT. Grunt? I think he's going to start off his own clan or something along those lines. Hopefully we get to see characters return in one way or another but I don't want to have the same team again.

Oh and Liara...have you played Lair of the Shadow Broker yet? Might change your mind.
