Official Ant-Man Spoiler Discussion Thread

My only real complaint was that that this was a heist film without a heist .
Nothing was stolen , except for the tech needed for the heist.
In the end, it was more of a demolition/destruction mission .

After my second viewing. I really believe Cassie's constant calling out for her daddy kept Scott lang from getting totally "lost" when he was in the quantum realm. .That enable scott to use his quick thinking to save himself. What do you all think?

Hank pym mentioned using the suit took a toll on him, but did he mentioned what exactly will happen to the user after over-usage of it? Was it mentioned?

Yes! I loved that scene. Michael Douglas' voice echoing in the background reminded me of the old Superman movie when Superman was about to reverse the spin of the Earth and Brando's voice kept on repeating "It is forbidden to interfere with human history."

I liked the Cold War footage of Ant-Man firing a machine gun at the soldiers.

Was the Pym building blown up at the end or merely shrunk?
Both I think.

They blew up the building and then shrinked it into the quantum realm or out of existence.

I was wondering do all those employees still have jobs because they just destroyed the corporate headquarters for the company and killed the CEO?

That gun that Cross had in combination with the Ant-Man tech would certainly make for an amazing assassin!

The shrink ray would make a good addition to Ant-Man's arsenal providing Hank makes a version that doesn't kill people.

Lol. I know! Seeing Cross test the shrink formula on those lambs had most girls on the edge of their seats. Pretty twisted and I loved it!

quick question:

in the comics, by the time Scott becomes ant-man, is Hank an old man like in this movie or is he younger ?

Comic book time is irrelevant. He looks about the same as all the rest of the Avengers he started up with.

The one thing that I didn't understand, probably something that i can finally relate to Scott's character, is what did Luis mean when he said "Yes" at the very end of the film? What was he saying yes to?

It was poorly written and all clunky. I think saying yes to him being in the Avengers. But I was also like, "WTF, yes what?!" I hated all the Luis garbage and montages.

It wasn't poorly written or clunky. You guys just weren't following it or understanding that's all.

Lol. I know and agree! I could totally relate to the Scott/Luis relationship. My cousin talks like Luis, requiring me to keep him in-line to the subject of the matter. That part got me laughing out loud.

Wonder why the casino & dance scenes were cut

Hank is younger in the comics than he is in the movie.

My guess is they are similar in age.

Scott said to currently be in his early forties in the comics.

LOL loved all the meandering Luis P.O.V. exposition. I hope they keep his heist posse for the next movie.
They need a code name though?

Peña referred to themselves as The: ANTOURAGE

Garrett Morris should be revealed to be one of their flunkies.

I firmly believe Luis needs to open every Marvel film with his explanation of the premise from now on.

Thought Hope was the CEO & she is still alive so maybe she had insurance on the building.

Hope was Chairwoman

Does insurance cover blown up and then shrunk out of existence? ;)

There are probably other Pym facilities for them to move into I imagine.

So I guess Bad Boys 2 actor Jordi Mollà scenes were cut from the movie. I didn't see him in the movie.

It was such a fun movie. I really loved it. I can't wait to see more of Ant-man. And that fight between Ant-Man and Falcon!!! ZOMG!! I loved it!!

While they were blowing the facility up they also didn't want to kill anybody. Cross would've probably nabbed the Yellow Jacket and some Cross/Pym Particles before leaving the building. So, they had to at least steal the suit before blowing the place.

I loved the huge Thomas the Train and the dog-sized ant

Mostly liked it. Was expecting it to be a lot funnier from the tweets. Did its job, added Ant-Man to the universe so he can plug right in to the films with other heroes.

7/10

Yeah, I found that aspect of it a little disappointing.

I wonder if that stolen vial of Pym Particles is going to show up in the next season of Agents of Shield.

I also would have marked out if Grant Ward had a cameo in that scene.

Yeah, can someone refresh my memory what happened at the end? Did Hydra end up with it? Did that guy make it out of the building?
