Did that get cleared up?Hopefully nothing considering what happened with Park last year.
No idea. But can we just put Sam in the makeup already? That said, considering how Rebels went, it would be pretty crazy for Obi-Wan to run into Maul. Then again, if Obi-Wan vision quest, I guess that could explain an encounter with Vader and Maul.Did that get cleared up?

So they're bringing in Maul. Interesting.
What the hell could that mean?
I'd love to see Witwer play Maul in live action - especially given the gaunt appearance Maul has in the shows that better matches him than Ray Park. Then there's the whole... you know, thing that happened with Ray Park last year, which... I'm going to hope that's not a new photo.
Interesting

If you're going to do Sam Witwer as Maul then I want his voice replaced with the true, original Maul voice, Peter Serafinowicz.
I actually hated how he sounded different in Solo (the movies are always first for me in the go-to for a character and I just like his Maul voice better even if it's only 3 lines). Serafinowicz even recorded the lines!
It was a bit of a saga and very murky.
Abridged version is that according to his wife, Ray was stoned out of his mind when he posted that and that it was an accident, (both the Parks are...notorious amongst those martial arts stunt people/actors for their weed habits...) and that a lot of the subsequent tweets that followed from people claiming to be their kids were trolls trying to stir the pot and that it was giving the family grief.
So, make of that what you will.

I was never really a Maul person until he showed up on Clone Wars and Rebels. Witwer really made the role his own, and combined with the writing took one of the Star Wars characters that was the picture of 'popular for a cool design and no personality' and made him just really interesting. Also, I mean...This.
Just cast the better actor and be done with this needlessly complicated "physical actor + voice actor" schtick. It's been 20 years since Phantom Menace. I can forgive a recast at this point.

Witwer Maul is best Maul.
Yeah. Character design and a franchise-best lightsaber duel.Because of the writing.
I still prefer Phantom Menace Maul in voice/performance. Sorry folks. There's a reason 10 minutes of screen time became such a huge character.
I regularly forget that Maul even had lines at all in TPM, his job is just to look cool and be a credible physical threat. Witwer and Filoni are pretty much entirely responsible for actually making him an interesting character.Yeah. Character design and a franchise-best lightsaber duel.
