Isn't Cleopatra Greek? She certainly wasn't black or Arabic. Gal can look the part.

Lol, those pics of Cleopatra looking really pissed and stomping her foot is what I mostly remember from reading the Asterix books decades ago. Haven't sen this in ages.

I suppose there doesn't need to be that aspect. I was thinking of the episode of the Star Trek cartoon where Spock time travelled back to meet his ancestor and then had to take his place for some important event in Vulcan history.

Cleopatra also made an appearance in another book and one character couldn't stop admiring her nose. I think he was in Asterix & Cleopatra as well.

No.
Maybe because she was Greek and the "Greek profile" ie : good looking with a nice nose line, Uderzo & Goscinny created her with a special nose.

Pascal, in these writings, remarked, “Cleopatra’s nose, had it been shorter, the whole face of the world would have been changed.”

He believed that had Cleopatra’s nose been smaller, she would have lacked dominance and strength of character that an impressive nose granted, in her times and that, if her nose had been different, great men like Caesar and Antony would not have fallen under her spell and we might still be speaking Latin.
