Perfect fits- Actors who were made for their roles!

LOL, yeah... John Wayne as Genghis Khan. Almost as bad as Mickey Rooney's portrayal of a Japanese man in "Breakfast at Tiffany's."

Almost.

Oh, man ... And I love Breakfast at Tiffany's. I always have to fast-forward through Mickey Rooney's parts though. Those parts are painful to sit through.

ryan reynolds = deadpool / wade
james brolin = george lutz
sam neill = dr. grant

I thought the title of the thread was "Perfect ****" and I got excited. :csad:

Jeff Goldblum as Ian Malcome. Now he is just perfect.

I am NOT going through the entire thread to see if someone said this already. :)

Ron Perlman as Hellboy.

Jeff Goldblum as Ian Malcome. Now he is just perfect.

This is one that I have to agree AND disagree with.

Had Steven Spielberg given us the Ian Malcolm in the book, yes, Goldblum would have been f**king brilliant. No one can play a nerdy genius the way he can.

However, good ol' Steve thought it was a brilliant idea to turn Malcolm into a wisecracking jackass who looks like Bono and doesn't serve any purpose whatsoever. Therefore, he might as well have cast Pauly Shore in the role because it wouldn't have made a bit of difference.

clint eastwood as the old guy in gran torino

Peter Weller for RoboCop, Arnold for Terminator, Stallone for Rambo, Englund for Freddy Krueger and Weaver for Ripley

Rutger Hauer in The Hitcher.
Hopkins in Silence.
Mitchum in Night of Hunter.
Robert Shaw in Jaws.
Etc...

Actually everytime an actor pulls off a memorable performance you could kind of say they were made for the roles, so the list is pretty much endless.

Umm... he provided great insight on the moral consequences of opening up a park and the science of it. And he was right all along. And when I read the book, he pretty much was the same. And the smartass just added to him. How can you not love Malcom and Hammond sparring?

Why is it every time i see this thread's title i think it says "perfect ****"

Clint Eastwood as Dirty Harry

Seth Rogen's as Zach (Zach & Miri Make a Porno)

Russel Brand's character from Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Jason Mewes as Jay from practically every Kevin Smith film.

Sean William Scott in Dude Where's My Car?

The list goes on...

Please, admit it, Malcolm was much more tolerable in the movie, hell, even likeable in the movie, than he was in the book.

I wouldn't say Malcolm in the film serves no purpose whatsoever. He's the character that states the theme of the entire film.

Robert Shaw was born to play Quint....

"You go in the water, sharks in the water"

"For 10,000 dollars, you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing"

"STOP PLAYING WITH YOUR SELF HOOPER"

By that measure then, it's hard to imagine someone other than Roy Scheider playing Brody.

But in recent times, I'd say Patrick Stewart as Professor Xavier was about as perfect a fit as any.

Vigo Mortensen = Aragorn
Orlando Bloom = Legolas
Jack Nicholson = Jack Nicholson (since he plays himself in everysingle character).
HArrison Ford= Han Solo
Ewan Mcgregor=Obi wan
Christopher reeve= Supes
Heath Ledger=Joker
Billy Bob thorton=sling blade guy
Arnie=Terminator
Sly Stallone=Rambo and Rocky

Agreed. He gave him more personality. He didn't really stick out to me in the book that much. I just thought of Goldblum when he was in it.
