I hope the fourth film is the last of the franchise. There's only so many times you can make a film with a subject manner like Saw. However, I love the Saw films.

In my opinion they're character driven films with a lot of violence and gore added to the concept. We all have characters that we like and would love to see again. My favorites are Dr. Gordon, Detective Matthews, Adam, Detective Kerry, and I'm thinking that I'm going to like Forensic Hoffman as a character too.

These films offer a unique perspective that allows you to see it from the victims point of view and asks the burning question, "How much blood would you shed?"

Yes. Amanda died in Saw 3. There's going to be a new apprentice in this one apparently.

Oh God...I enjoyed the first three Saws because they were sort of a slasher, sort of a cerebral, in a way, and after the second, I pretty much muttered, "Yup...new Friday the 13th right here..." I'm guessing the title of the seventh right now: "Saw VII: Jigsaw vs. Dr. Phil!" I can see it now: Jigsaw gets Dr. Phil and Shaq in a...wait, that was already done...nevermind.

But seriously, look at Ft13. We're on number 11 right now, and a remake is on the way! Michael has nine films (counting the remake), Freddy's at eight and a future nine coming up, Chucky's at five...hell, even The Exorcist's got five! These films go on and on without end...

I like these movies, but I wish they would've just wrapped up the story in a nice little package, I don't want to see it continue on and just deteriorate in quality. I mean I'm not pre-judging this movie, but it's rare for a movie series to have three good movies, let alone five.

I am applauding that statement there. I saw the first Saw (I saw Saw...kinda like a see saw...forget it) and hated it so I stopped watching the films. I don't like it, so I don't watch it, so it don't effect me. I just never thought the series would go on as far as it has. 3 seems to be the limit for horror sequels post 1980's. 5 is impressive. Like I said, who thought this would be the next Friday the 13th franchise? I never saw (there it is again) coming.

well i heard wahlberg is part of the cast for saw 5 , thats just what i heard , could be a flashback could be something else.

i wasnt too impressed with the third but the fourth could turn things around for me , depends on who the new apprentice is .

Maybe instead of releasing them yearly to avoid overkill the studios should start releasing them every two years, that's the problem with previous franchises with a movie coming out every year.

I am a firm believer in the trilogy. If you are going to have a 4, be a distant sequel (ala Terminator 2, Live Free or Die Hard). With that said, I will be seeing this in the theater. There is no use getting mad. I think a fifth installment is ridiculous, but I won't throw a fit about it. If the trailer for it looks interesting or if Saw 4 is decent and/or hooks me for another, I'll see this one.

I guess im an idiot cus I love the saw movies. When Im with friedns we love watching the movies together seeing those awesome creative kills. Just like people in the 80s who loved seeing the new ways Freddy or Jason killed. The saw films and 80s horror are the same. Except the saw films have just a bit more gore, better writing, and acting. Oh and I think your just one of those people who hates things that are popular.

I'm hoping the 5th installment is a prequel. I really think that is the way too go with the franchise. We seen glimpses of his track to being Jigsaw,but showing it all from the beginning could be good. That way u can bring back fan favorites Amanda,show the first traps that u got parts of from Saw I. etc....Heck u can even show Danny Glovers character more,and even det. mattews in a cameo role.
