well freddy recovered with dream warriors which is what i hope saw will do witht he fourth, anyway if the story is still good enough then im behind these films , its fun and cool , however jigsaw was an interesting villian that i cant see being replaced . they were gonna try with amanda and that made me not want to see the third but now shes out of the way , thank god. i just hope these writers have a story in mind rather than just punching up whatever comes to mind for the sake of money .

Okay guys. Honestly, how many of us thought Saw would become the new Friday the 13th?

Well after the first one made like 50 million at the box office and the fact they make these movies at about 2 million a peice, and included in that is the fact that after the first one was a huge success they stated they where gunna make em every halloween

yeah its pretty easily to see Saw every halloween, Lionsgate basically finances their whole slate on the grosses of every saw movie

In all honesty I think it would be really fun if Jigsaw in actuality was the doll or something like, take a turn for left field and make an icon out of the franchise....it sounds about as corny as friday the 13th pt 8 but i miss the horror icons

well the director and the producers are all saying that they will reel them out yearly unless they dont' have a good enough idea to keep it going. whether that means they would simply skip a year or it would be the inevitable end of the franchise is ultimately up to them. i'm all for these movies as long as they keep the same tone and dont' get repetitive. looking at it from a simple standpoint- if they make them real enough and keep the tone without getting too far out of hand then they will work. if it gets to the point where every movie has a new jigsaw, that would be stupid. or, like halloween 3, has nothing to do with the prior ideas. there's no sense in making a sequel if it isnt' tied directly to the prior films, especially when it's established 4 films in that it's an ongoing story.

Bloody Disgusting reports that Lionsgate is considering filming "Saw V" and "Saw VI" back-to-back, with production designer-turned-director David Hackl and crew signed on to both.

The reasons cited is that shooting back-to-back could help costs considerably, plus would avoid any potential upcoming strike.

The series is one of the most profitable franchises on the markets with last year's third entry for example costing a mere $10 million, but taking in $164 million in ticket sales worldwide.

"Saw IV" scribes Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton are working on the next chapter, with a first draft due by the end of the month.

Agree I guess. Long as they keep some continuity to the films it wont be too bad. I also don't want a new jiggs every film,that would be stupid. If they keep it in the 'Real' and don't do no 'body jumping',or something thats supernatural then it might be okay. I just think overtime it will get repetitive and no matter how fresh the movie is ppl will get bored of them.
