I would say Spider-Man shouldn't kill, but I can imagine him being tempted to do so against a truly vile foe some time in the movie series, like he has been in the comics.

No, then it isn't Spider-Man. He may have been pushed to that limit by certain villains but he should still be the more optimistic and hopeful hero believing in that, even when others view him as naive.
