Yeah, that's what I though. Plus it's a bit overwhelming with how many Legends figures there are. I don't feel like having to play catch-up for a long time.

I didn't mean to insult. I mean, Mattel at least makes some pretty bad figures if you looking for detail.

I liked the ToyBiz Legends but the new Hasbro figures just don't look that great, IMO.

? ever since Marvel legends returned at hasbro.. there's easily many that are better than hasbro ever was...

The New female sculpt is easily the best ever.

I would have agreed with you in the Blob/Ronan/Brood Queen era... but you're crazy wrong about now.

hell the new Cap figs coming out are fantastic. interchangeable heads and hands even.

So what are the rarest figures out there for Select?

I have an opportunity to buy loose but complete Ultimate Venom, Ultimate Carnage, and Zombie Spider-Man for a $40 a piece. I also found unopened versions of Spidey's Fearsome Foes for $125 so each figure is about $31 and Venom for $30. I think these are pretty decent prices.

Ultimate venom, Mephisto, and the Watcher are some of the rarest comic selects. Arachne was pretty rare, but they're about to rerelease her with an updated look. Thor movie Loki figure is pretty rare as well.

Marvel selects arnt really that rare. Nor do they really go up all that much in price. They re-release them all the time.

Yeah, I thought Mephisto was pretty rare since the last time I checked there was only one listing of him on eBay.

What do you consider high? A loose mephisto is $20 on ebay right now. A loose Dragon Man goes for around $400

A moc watcher is going fir $145 but i don't think that's too bad. I couldn't imagine many selects going above that. If they ever re-release watcher (which is likely) the price will drop

I got myself loose versions of Ultimate Venom, Ult. Carnage, and Zombie Spidey for a total of $108, so $36 for each figure. With my previous collections, I've attempted to spend no more than $50 on a single action figure, so if I could possibly continue this trend with Marvel Select, that would be great.

So apparently Ultimate Venom had two versions, one with the white spider chest logo and one without. Mine has a chest logo, so is that good? lol

with chest logo is more common, though both relatively go for the same price online, so no big thing either way.

the MS variants arn't usually that rare

Yeah I only get Selects that fit with my Legends, and didn't have any trouble price-wise picking up a Mephisto on ebay with his chair accessory (which is awesome ) in great condition. Think that was $30, I've paid more than that for some Legends.

Even like the zombie figures? They came out seven years ago, did they rerelease them since then? How are characters like Ult. Venom hard to get and expensive if they don't really get rare?

That's what I was saying. The zombie figures are rare as well. The ultimate venom one was one of the first selects ever released. I believe they might have rereleased it or thinking about it soon. One of the diamond selects representatives is a member on fwoosh and comments on the selects board, and said that the ultimate venom had a smaller production number. The ultimate iron man was also very rare, but they are about to rerelease it.

You might think $145 for a moc watcher isn't bad, but that's still almost 6 times the retail $24.99 price tag. That's in the range of Marvel Legends series six deadpool, winter soldier/black widow two pack, ares BAF range. Those are considered rare. So if the value can increase like that it must be rare to be valued at such price.

You can technically call the movie selects rare, considering they get one limited run with no reissues.

I don't think so. I believe the guy on fwoosh said they've kicked the tires on rereleasing him but they haven't. So far the only rereleases for 2014 are Spider-Woman, her variant and updated Arachne, Captain Marvel, Ultimate Iron Man, Classic Hawkeye and Black Widow (both of which were Disney exclusives).
