Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. - S02E09 "Ye Who Enter Here"

Mac's definitely not gone, if for no other reason than there's no way that in 2014 a show decides to off one of its main characters and it's a black guy first. That makes he and Tripp equally as safe as Bobby for the moment ;)

Technically, he's a guest character not a main character. So he's in the same position as Victoria Hand, who would be the first one killed off.

When the synopsis mentioned a sacrifice I knew it would be Mack. Tripp was off the hit list only because he already took some bullets last week. All the others are either regulars or comic book characters (Bobbi) so they're safe. They should have sacrificed Blood Hunter instead because he's useless.

I wouldn't talk about comic book characters being safe.

Mac (Alfonso MacKenzie) is a comic book character
So is Nick Hunter
So is Bobbi Morse

So is Victoria Hand
So is Eric Koenig
So is John Garrett

I'd argue being a comic book character puts you in a perilous position in this show.

So (my thoughts) Bobby and Mac are working for the government/UN trying to determine whether the new Shield are a threat. This is why they keep on asking those questions and she was happy that Coulson wouldn't have any "acceptable losses". If they determine they are a threat they are to take them out. They wont and Shield will be recognised again.

At least Hunter has saved others asses more than once. Mac the therapist whie more likeable hasnt done much really.

I wondered about this and their look when Coulson said they'd blow the city up.

Also her curiosity about not retrieving the advanced technology.

Hydra would be too obvious/silly for her so Stark is a great call. Could this be laying the groundwork for Civil War? Bobbi aligns with Stark who resumes a Fury-esque opinion on weaponised technology/individuals whereas Coulson is on the Cap side.

the look that was seen in the clip for this episode think it was edited, not the same as the one in the episode itself, the conversation had progressed slightly though there was some over the sholder people eye balling each other in the actual episode when coulson said this.

the mac bobbi thing, mention in xena agent looks like a coup or some other form of corruption.

maybe they are working for furry.

Here's the dialogue between Mac & Bobbi on the Quinjet as best as I could make out (if it helps with the discussion at all):

Mac: So, you and Hunter...again.

Bobbie: I know

Mac: Been through it enough times...

Bobbie: I know.

Mac:...gluttons for punishment I'd say.

Bobbie: Let's not go down this road, okay? You're a big brother but you're not my big brother.

Mac: Your personal life, that's your business. I'm just wondering if it means bringing Hunter in on the other thing.

Bobbie: That?! No.

Mac: I figured after we lost Hartley you'd try to...

Bobbie: No, he has no idea. And I'd like it to stay that way.

Mac: Copy that.

Fury is still around. That would be my guess.

They already did that last year, though, with May reporting to the SHIELD director behind Coulson's back. Stark is going to want intel on HYDRA, and can do that by putting Bobbi on the payroll. I could see Palicki sticking around as part of Team Stark during CA:CW.

Last year AOS integrated Hill, Fury and Sitwell wonderfully into the HYDRA storyline, and I think that they will up the ante this year by having RDJ play a role in the series finale. He just signed up for another deal in the tens of millions, and he has said that he would be ok with appearing on the show.

Rumors have surfaced that A:AOU opens with an Avengers attack on a HYDRA stronghold. My guess is that this will be part of a coordinated action with Coulson's team.

I missed part of the conversation but I'm sure the one that responded to that question said there are 13, but paused and said he was joking and said the amount. Like I said tho I missed it due to noisy students
Just how many Koenigs are there? Please tell me we'll get to see a scene where a bad guy (Ward Maybe?) gets surrounded and take out by an army of Koenigs?

FitzSimmons is something that is rapidly overtaking SkyeWard from what I've seen online... Kinda obvious to me that they're going to end up a thing, so the silly messing about is going to get boring fast.

Mac is built like a truck (ironically) so I expect the team will end up finding I'm down there perfectly fine and dandy...

I think one of the Koenigs said that there was like 13 of them but don't know if that number counted the deceased one in the group or not.

So Koenig is definitely an LMD right?
I'm hoping, I even had a thought, are the names alphabetical so far? I didn't catch the names of these two but if the first letters don't repeat the names COULD be the order in which they were created. Eric for example, would have been the 5th one made

Nope, as far as we know they never answer Tripp's question after joking with him about there being 13 - May comes down the stairs on the phone with Coulson at that point and focus shifts to her.

hmmm lol so we're still up in the air to how many there really are

Regarding Mac I think killing him is too easy. He may come back, but not evil...but maybe one of the first half human hybrids due to that **** infecting his system.

he's (mack) listed as in next week's show... so he'll be there in some capacity

So the thing Bobbie has going on the side that Mac knew about and she didn't tell her ex......I think she's working for Stark.
Hunter is a Merc, I think that's why they are keeping him around. He will eventually betray the team, betray Bobbi, that's his destiny. I think he has some association with the good ole General Talbot, if not mistaken.

Mac has barely done anything aside from some armchair psychology and playing XBox with Fitz. I hope he sticks around but calling Hunter useless is laughable. At least he's engaged in some actual tradecraft.
Mac, imo, has a very important, but subtle role. He is the Alfred, the Jarvis, for the team. He takes care of the team, pre-maint(pm) the equipment, aircraft, weapons, etc, a calming & rational voice to team members, got some field experience(before he join AoS), and got this thing with Bobbi....which I agree with a few posters who believe the two essentially, could be working for Stark.

Mac role may be less glamorous; but, it is still a pretty viable one, as it is neither less.

I didn't notice this until now, but during Skye's nightmare sequence when she opens the music box, the tune playing is "Daisy Bell".

If I had to guess, the whole Mr. Hyde and Daisy Johnson thing is correct.

See, I thought the same thing until I thought about it a while. The problem is that nothing in that dream was true. May and Coulson are not her parents, they never abandoned her, nor are they likely to, the Diviner probably won't kill her, etc. So, I'm thinking it might be the most brilliant piece of misdirection ever.

I'm basically 100% sold on Skye being Daisy and "the Doctor" being Calvin Zabo (Mr. Hyde).

It just adds up to well...

The doctor is, well...a doctor, has superhuman strength, a temper/emotional issues (a duality to his personality, one might say), and has a daughter who was put up for adoption. These are all traits of Calvin Zabo in the comics.

As for Skye...she's an orphan who works for SHIELD and has the potential to have superpowers. Quake is an adopted child who works for SHIELD who has superpowers.

The pieces couldn't fit together any better if you tried.

I guarantee that we will hear these two pieces of dialogue at some point in the season...

(As "the Doctor" is transforming into Hyde, or at the very least having a super-strength freak out)

Coulson: "This guy's got a real Jekyll and Hyde thing going on..."

Raina to Skye: "Your father always wanted me to wear those flower dresses as a reminder of you...Daisy"

About the only thing I can't reconcile is how Daisy's last name would be "Johnson" since her mother was Chinese and her dad's last name is Zabo...

However, it seems that SHIELD and Gen. Talbot are on sort-of good terms given the last time we saw the General.
