Which Green Lantern should be used? - Part 2

Personally, I don't really care who they use. I don't have any real attachment to any Lantern.

I'm probably going to get a bunch of hell for this, but it really boils down to the skin color. The general audience initially took notice of John on JLU mostly because he was a prominently featured token black superhero. No disrespect to him, that's just the reason he was chosen to be on the show, Bruce Timm has spoken about this many times before. If tptb had stuck with Kyle, I don't think it would've made that much of a difference because Kyle and Hal look pretty similar. To this day I see some people thinking that Hal Jordan was the GL on Superman: TAS. It's a similar situation to The Flash, where many people who do not take actual interest in these characters, think that The Flash on JLU and The Flash on CW are the same person. They don't know or care about the names Wally West and Barry Allen, because when the characters are in costume they look practically the same. With Stewart it's the ethnicity, the different costume, plus he doesn't wear a mask either. So that's why some of these people asked questions like "What about the black GL?" If Kyle was on JLU and Hal was still in the movie and everything else, they would probably hardly notice it. Therefore, John's fans(and by that I mean his actual fans not people who saw him as kids on an animated show from 15 years ago), also use that show to glorify him all the time. Because the show did make him a prominent minority character. With Wally and Barry, regular people just don't care about details. To them The Flash is simply The Flash, him having red or blonde hair, or different name is just a formality.

This has been talked about for awhile now.

Hope this happens since it is logical path for the GL reboot films to have Hal, John and maybe even Kyle and lady GL be involved. I have never been a a big Guy fan....but it would be interesting to see his d-bag attitude on film.

Have to have Hal and John play off eachother and have them have fun personalities but be serious military men at times as well.

Chris Pine as Hal and Idris Elba or Terry Crews as John with Joseph Kosinski, Neil Bloomkamp, or Matt Reeves directing!

If Tyrese does wind up being cast as John, I will be okay with it. He has been involved with some big time box office films as of late and nobody can deny that.

My take on the Green Lantern situation

In order:
1. Hal Jordan: He is the quintessential Green Lantern, fearless, cocky and he has one of the best villains in the DC universe (Sinestro). He also has the best story arcs out of all the Green Lanterns. His associations with Barry Allen, Parallax, The Guardians, Sinestro and Star Sapphire make him an essential part of the DC mythology. He is truly "the greatest Green Lantern of them all".

2. Kyle Rayner: One of the most creative Green Lanterns, he is a struggling graphic artist in real-life, really humble but there are times when he lacks the courage of a Hal Jordan. He was the main Green Lantern in the late nineties after Hal Jordan became parallax.

3. John Stewart: Straightforward,brave but boring personality. He lacks the imagination of the aforementioned Green Lanterns. I like the chemistry he has with Wally West.

4. Guy Gardner: One of the most controversial Green Lanterns, mainly because of his annoying personality. But too his credit he is one of the most unintentional funny DC characters. He tends to clash with Batman (and everyone)

It doesn't matter. What I questioned was your assertion that John couldn't make for a decent lead because he doesn't have any personal ties to any decent villains. That is, without a doubt, one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen anyone say on the subject.

This is probably the first pro John argument I've seen that dosen't rely on "I hate Hal and his movie flopped".

The idea of having several lanterns in the film will be confusing for the general audience. How can they tell the difference between Hal, John, Kyle and Guy? There isn't just enough time to give all of them proper character development in a Justice League adventure.

I'm sure there will only be one in Justice League. Once we get to the solo movie, they'll have plenty of time to develop each individual Lantern. They all have their own unique personalities and uniforms, so I don't think telling them apart will be an problem.

They tell them apart the way the tell characters apart in any other movie ever. It will be pretty easy since you have different actors playing the different characters.

That is like saying having multiple kryptonians in MOS was confusing because you couldn't tell the difference between Superman Zod and Faora

I'm in the same boat. They all have their interesting and entertaining qualities that could lead to different interesting and entertaining films. I'm one of the few people who really liked the GL: Emerald Knights and would be fine watching a full film with any of those characters over any of the human ones.

The solo can focus on Hal, John and Guy. A sequel could have to do with Parallax/Emerald Twilight
