Wonder Woman Rotten Tomatoes Prediction Thread

As much as some people want to think it is a single story, it isn't.

To you it isnt, to me it is. Neither of us actually know what the creators are thinking so it is all on our hunches. :)

It is why the never ending battle is just dumb...the people who like it need to accept there are people who dont and vice versa. We can disagree on the movies and not hate each other. The internal conflicts are what destroy fanbases.

96%! Didn't expect that at all. Excellent reception.

Rotten Tomatoes:
1. Wonder Woman - 96% fresh (54 reviews counted)
2. The Dark Knight - 94%
3. Iron Man - 94%
4. Spider-Man 2 - 93%
5. Superman - 93%
6. Avengers - 92%
7. Logan - 92%
8. Guardians of the Galaxy - 91%
9. X-Men: Days Of Future Past - 91%
10. Captain America: Civil War - 90%

Rotten Tomatoes scores are debatable. A higher score in RT doesn't necessarily mean a better movie it just means more people gave it a positive grade than a negative one. Having said that i personally look at that Top 10(minus WW since i havent seen it) that i posted above and i see a group of solid movies. Quality movies and you could very well categorize them as excellency in the comic book movie department. There's always going to be discussions about this or that movie not belonging... In the end is a matter of personal taste.

My point is if Wonder Woman remains on that Top 10 i will have a very high expectation for it because of most of the other ones in that Top. It has very big shoes to fill in my perspective but i will keep an open mind. Then again Doctor Strange has a 90% rating wich is very close to GOTG and i my eyes DS is a good movie and not a great one like GOTG... That's the thing with Rotten Tomatoes you gotta understand how it works. The higher the rating the more people that gave it a positive rating not necessarily a great one.

I feel movies like FC & DOFP turn the franchise around but it didn't necessarily make TLS more palatable. If anything the idea of DOFP making TLS, cease to exist within the X-Men story I find funny.

Your not thinking of it the way I'm explaining it. DoFP was designed to right the wrongs of TLS (spoiler: Everyone dieing).

I actually want to pay to see a DC film now.

The fact that a higher amount of people gave a film a positive rating certainly can imply that the film might be a good/great one :)

It's humorous to me seeing the reverse-explaining of how RT works. Those who once were saying "just accept the RT meter has it right" are now using the rebuffs back then as their own now.

It's absolutely laughable and sad that this thread across all forums consistently becomes one of the hottest ones.

us critics will probally knock it down some but doudtful it suddenly becomes a rotten film.it is sure to be first fresh film of dceu.

That's also true. The higher the possibility for people enjoying and or being blown away by it.

Can a movie ever go from fresh to rotten?

Thats the good thing about Snyder's films imo.

Its a flaw, but then a positive as well.

Snyder doesn't make great movie theater experiences imo. Which ruins it for a lot of people because they can only judge it on their first experience. First impressions can make or break a film for some people.

There are other films I've enjoyed more in the theater. Then once I leave the theater...meh I can't remember what the heck happened a week later. However, the more you watch Watchmen, BvS, MoS, the more you get out of them. His movies actually improve in time imo.

I think part of that is just by him taking chances. When everything is cookie cutter a lot of stuff seem to overlap.

However, it seems Patty has not only made a great theater experience, but a truly great film as well. I'm so happy for her.

I wonder if Feige will regret his decision to not let Jenkins direct Thor TDW. As much as I like the job that Feige has been doing, I felt like he screwed up with the Thor sequel, and I hope it will be redeemed by Thor Ragnarok.

Can a movie ever go from fresh to rotten?

It's mathematically possible if enough bad reviews come in and it drops below threshold. But with the film currently in the 90s and 54 reviews in it will eventually become impossible for it to drop that low. Plus you have the fact that with this high of an average rating the current reviewers loved it so much that it's that much more unlikely that the remaining reviewers will deem it rotten in sufficient numbers to cause a swing that large. But a film that is more marginally fresh at this stage can easily become rotten, it's just a numbers game.

Why they are taking so much time to post their reviews on RT ?

The number of reviews posted are still 54.

Everyone else is adjusting their reviews to rotten. The ultimate honeydick. :sly:

But I want to talk about the movie in the coming months and not defend it all the time.

Then why do you choose to defend a movie? You could just. . . *not* defend the movie. After all, if a movie doesn't defend itself from its own quality, why *should* it get defended by others?

I think MoS started in the 90+ then nose dived the following day...

How did it manage that? Were there not a lot of reviews on the first day? Or did everyone suddenly decide it wasn't such a great film?

Because art. As bad as consumerism has become, what is this obsession needing to take the cynical and detached path to viewing what's inherently meant to not be the same experience for everyone?

Ugh, what's GOTG doing in that top 10 list?... so overrated. The Winter Soldier is a much better movie in my opinion
