DC Television Suicide Squad’ Spinoff Series ‘Peacemaker’ Starring John Cena From James Gunn Set at Max

He failed Peacemaker. Worst eagle friend ever.

Frankly, I'm glad he flew away. That fight was no place for him. The last time he got into a fight, Peacemaker's dad punched him and injured him. He's a freaking eagle.

I’m surprised there’s not much of an uproar about the Green Arrow mention from the season finale. Oliver is somewhere in the DCEU shooting at things.

Because outside of the snydercult, the fandom is able to take a joke.
Hell i laughed when Peacemaker ripped into Batmans no killing rule.

Anyway, as it is with such things...youtube spoiled me on the Justice League cameo.
It was fun and cool that Momoa and Miller showed up.
But it highlights also my problem...the fact that we have this Frankenstein universe going on currently with no real strong plan.

Its all over the place, this movie does that, this series this, we get this universe here, another one on that side.
I dont want everything to be connected, but damn it...give me some kind of plan.

And that goes for the Justice league too.
Where are we going, when can we expect a new justice league?
Here we have two superman things going on, both unrelated to anything.
Then we get probably only 1 WW movie left, maybe 2 Aquaman.
The flash is doing god knows what.
According to rumors we get a weird new universe...which i find fine and all, dont get me wrong.

But for christ sake, is it for WB really that hard to build something that sounds pretty simple on paper?
Whats so god damn hard about doing Clark Kent Superman? What is so hard doing Bruce Wayne Batman in a bit more fantastical world the Justice League fits into? Etc.

Stuff like the JL cameo is what i like, but it also reminds me that despite all...i wouldnt say no to a simple marvel like connected universe for DC.

I agree with most of what you said, but I blame Kevin Tsujihara. And now they're trying to push this multiverse stuff, but whatever.

The DCEU was not well thought out from the beginning.

Just enjoy it for what it is. The more they try to be like Marvel and plot it out, the less it works. So when there’s a connection, great. Otherwise each property can live on its own, which I think is the point.

One of the worst DCEU things to me was Lex Luthor finding the Justice League and branding them with their names and logos. I still can't get over that.

Looks like there was Batman and Cyborg double that was originally in that cameo scene:

FL-i82fVQAMBEEL

I can think of dozens of reasons why they were cut. It is what it is. They didn't NEED to be in that scene. Frankly, I would've been fine if only just Aquaman and Flash showed up or no Justice League showed up at all.

^ Still some type of Batman representation would have been nice... even if just the Batmobile pulling up near by/ or the Batwing hoovering above {if they wanted to keep it generic an non-representative any one Batman} and not actually show Batman himself

Yeah and i do love it, but there is this shallow part that just want the "simple" stuff marvel has.
Watching the justice league animated show recently a lot, and man...im itching for this in live action form.

But yeah, i have so much fun with what WB does currently and that stuff runs on its own without needing you to consume dozens of other shows and movies to understand connections etc.

Probably didn’t want to bring up Affleck Batman so close to The Batman. And Cyborg is obvious.

Thats what i assume.
But would have been nice for batman to show up.
Its so weird considering how DC would love to shove Batman into every book they have, while WB is this bogus protective over Batman.
He is either vanished or dead in their properties or obscured and barely visible in scenes he does show up.
Really annoying.

I had no interest in this series. Just started it last week and finished it this week. I was pleasantly surprised how much I like it. Glad to hear there is a season 2 coming. Hope word of mouth gets out more, that is how I decided to watch it. Heard it was a funny show so I decided to give it an episode. Then I found myself at the last episode out at the time and had to wait for the finale. I think watching all at once for this show is better. Just waiting a week seems to lose some of the flow for me. So now is the time to spread the word season 1 is out and it is good.

WB doesn't deserve these characters.

goddamn you people lmao.

talking about dc is so damn annoying online.
None of what dc movie/dceu is doing currently is exactly ideal. but they are in a hell of a lot better shape than in 2012-2017.

I dont give a damn about cyborg sorry.wb evidently doesn't. batman isnt hurting: big movie in 2 weeks. and appearances in flash(2 batmen) and batgirl. they probably though it wasn't needed to do more Affleck even if it is a vague outline since he will die/get erased and be replaced by Keaton in flash.

James Gunn „WB gave me all the creative freedom and I can do what I want“ :funny:

really nitpicking to this level huh. He obviously got away with a lot. im assuming hes happy with his relationships with wb/hbo considering hes made one and one show. second season of show is going on ahead. possibly one or two more shows also being made. whats are you trying to say here exactly? gunn planned just aqua man then Ezra being a fan got himself in a role (they shot that at the gotg filming stage or whatever).

The Bat gets A LOT of representation so even though it sucks that we couldnt see him in the shadows not as if we missed out on anything.

Considering Peacemaker’s origins, I would love to see more Charlton-turned-DC characters in the mix next season.

Ted Kord is presumably earmarked for the Blue Beetle movie, but I feel like a character like Captain Atom could really work in this context.

Captain Atom is a great idea!

I've always wanted a Ted Kord Blue Beetle and Booster Gold buddy comedy movie or show. Either that or JLI.

Justice League International just seems like a property that'd be well suited for the comedy/high-concept superhero show. Think about it. It's basically the B-league or minor league for the Justice League. Also, other than when Batman was part of the team, the team itself usually consisted of B to D-list characters. Or lesser known characters.

Like they didn't have Hal Jordan Green Lantern. They had Guy Gardner or G'Nort.

Granted, I don't think JLI would have to go for the R-rated adult route that Peacemaker did. But I think you could play around with them being the mistfit island of broken toys superhero team.

gunn would be fun writing blue and gold or JLI weirdly enough a lot of that cats is coming to live action or is there already.

there was a neat Charlton reference in that finale...captain atom is a character dc in comics havent really done much with other than having him explode every other event. but I do want a live action question.charcter with a lot of potential.Could be their moon knight in terms of offbeat street level hero.
