NFL - Game On

Brady's deal is insane.

375 Million for ten years!

:tm$

Not only will he be the highest paid sports broadcaster by a huge margin but he'll make more in broadcasting than he ever has playing football. :funny:

Dude's insanely charming and knows the game better than anyone. I'm sure he'll crush it.

I'm sure he'll be right on par with Romo, if not better. I love listening to Romo call out plays before they happen. Plus his enthusiasm is through the roof. Hopefully Brady can match that.

Speaking of Brady and the Bucs, their schedule the 1st 4 weeks is insane. @ Dallas, @ New Orleans, Packers, Chiefs.

Depending on how that goes, they could easily start 0-4.

Saints have a chance to be decent, but if I had to guess, I'd say they have a mediocre year at best. My prediction for the Bucs after 4 is 2-2.

Additonally I think we are going to see the decline and fall of the Green Bay Packers. Losing Devante hurt, a lot, and Rodgers is going to start showing his age. They are lucky to be playing in that butter soft division of theirs, otherwise they would struggle to make the playoffs.

But look at the bright side, at least they aren’t saddled with a big contract on an aging quarterback.

Yo!!! @Spider-Fan

You probably already know this, but the Browns sign Clowney to an 11M, one year deal. That's a good deal for the Browns and tells me there weren't a lot of serious suitors for Jadeveon.

He was very good last year, so I welcome him back

Hopefully he can stay healthy and is pre fall off for an edge rusher. I feel bad for Browns fans. They're generally great fans (present company excluded. :p ) and really got ripped off when the franchise moved. To make things worse, Baltimore got a SB title. :argh:

I'm rooting for you guys....and even you :cwink: .....but, damn, Watson.....

Browns fans are also conflicted on Watson, lol. Like anytime you turn on Browns sports radio, it almost always devolves into whether fans want him or not

i'm surprisingly intrigued

Browns have been so unlucky when it comes QBs, basically since Bernie Kosar: first Johnny Manziel, then Baker Mayfield, now DeShawn Watson. Just keeps getting worse.

ESPN ranks the current crop of NFL QBs. Here's their top 10:

1. Aaron Rodgers
2. Patrick Mahomes
3. Josh Allen
4. Tom Brady
5. Joe Burrow
6. Matthew Stafford
7. Justin Herbert
8. Russell Wilson
9. Deshaun Watson
10. Dak Prescott

Another one of ESPN safe, warm and fuzzy, crowd pleasing polls that really isn't based on any kind of reality. Here's how they should be ranked:

1. Josh Allen: easily. He's got all of Joe Burrow's skills and abilities, but he can also scramble like Micheal Vick. If the Buffalo/KC playoff game didn't make you a believer, I'm sorry I can't help you.
2. Patrick Mahomes: the only question about Mahomes is if he still has the fire and desire -- winning a SB can sap the will of some players. But he's still young and probably as hungry as ever.
3. Joe Burrow: a young gun with some of the best weapons in the league and with a real O-lIne to protect him this time.
4. Aaron Rodgers: F ESPN and the media generally and their love affair with Rodgers. On the plus side he has ability and the experience of winning a SB. But on the other, he no longer has the best receiver in the league, and he isn''t a playmaker/scrambler like Allen or Mahomes. The Packers will win their division by default because its so bad, but Rodgers and GB will be exposed in the first round of the playoffs you can bank on it.
5. Justin Herbert: another up and coming young gun. Life would be great if he wasn't stuck in the "Group of Death".
6. Matthew Stafford: Like last year, he and the Rams will probably flying under the radar all season. Which should worry a lot of people.
7. Tom Brady: his arm strength is becoming an issue. Age is slowly beginning to take its toll.
8. Dak Prescott: rank him higher than Wilson who will be joining a new team and will likely go through a transition period.
9. Russell Wilson.
10. Kyler Murray: exceptional play-making ability, just needs a decent head coach to mentor him.

Some of these actually make better sense than what actually exists.

Call me crazy, but if I were starting a team, I would go Allen-Herbert as my top 2 choices.

Actually, I'm going to ditch Murray and replace him with Lamar Jackson at the #10 spot. Jackson seems smarter and more consistent.

I don’t call you crazy at all. In fact, I put Herbert just above Burrow. They both have terrific careers in front of them if they’ve got a great team. The quarterback is sort of like the president in a way; they often get too much credit and too much criticism.

Name the last team to win a Super Bowl with a mediocre QB. Nick Foles with the Eagles in 2018? But lets face it, an in-his-prime Carson Wentz had carried them all the way to the big game. No, the days of winning a championship without a marquee QB are over. You need to secure that position first, then everything else comes after.
