The Good Citizens of Metropolis: The Casting Thread

Well, yeah. But they're different "types" of attractive. Elordi is more burly, square-jawed farm boy attractive, if that makes sense? Ehh

The actor Spencer House kinda fits the same mold

I've never seen him act, but superman isn't the first thing that come to my mind when I look at him...

Maybe somewhere down the line he fits in the God's and Monsters story line?

Not saying that guy doesn't look a superman, but visually this is what I see.

To be honest, I think another Superman fancast, Wolfgang Novagraz, fits the Shazam mode in terms of looks and personality. He seems very boyish.

I think for as young as Supes might look we will good something close to this. It is an AI face but its much younger looking but not too young than the other A.I Supes that often show up. Never mind the the suit.

That suit looks incredible. Can someone just ask ChatGPT to make a good Superman movie?

Making a good Superman movie involves a few key elements that need to be considered. Here are some steps that could help create a successful Superman movie:

  1. Strong Character Development: Superman is a complex character with a rich backstory, and a good Superman movie should spend time developing his character and exploring his motivations. This will help the audience connect with him on a deeper level.

  2. Compelling Story: A good Superman movie should have a compelling story that is both emotionally engaging and action-packed. It should also incorporate themes of hope, justice, and the importance of doing what is right.

  3. Great Cast: A strong cast is essential to any movie, and a Superman movie is no exception. The actor playing Superman needs to be charismatic and able to convey both the character's strength and vulnerability. The supporting cast should also be carefully selected to provide depth and nuance to the story.

  4. Balanced Action and Drama: A good Superman movie needs to balance action and drama. While the movie should have thrilling action sequences, it should also have moments of introspection and character development that allow the audience to connect with the character on a deeper level.

  5. Iconic Villain: A good Superman movie needs to have an iconic villain that poses a genuine threat to the hero. The villain should have a backstory and motivations that are understandable, yet still make them a formidable opponent.

  6. Emotional Connection: A good Superman movie should also have an emotional connection with the audience. It should make them feel invested in the character's journey and root for him to succeed.

  7. Visual Effects: Superman is a character with incredible powers, and a good Superman movie should showcase these powers through stunning visual effects.

  8. Epic Score: A good Superman movie needs to have an epic score that captures the character's heroic nature and the grandeur of his adventures.
Overall, a good Superman movie needs to be a compelling story that balances character development, action, and drama. It should have a strong cast, an iconic villain, emotional connection, stunning visual effects, and an epic score. If all these elements are in place, a Superman movie has the potential to be a blockbuster hit.

Mario Robles is saying that Gunn has already met with an actor for Superman that has the next characteristics:
-Less than 6 foot.
-Has a very lean physique.
-Early 30s but extremely babyfaced.
-Not who you'd think for Superman at all and it has him even a bit skeptical.
-Blue eyes, black hair.
-Waaaay more reminiscent of the Earth One depiction of Superman.

Also doesn't want to mention the actor's name since he doesn't believe they'll actually get cast and it's just Gunn casting a very wide net.

My guesses are Logan Lerman or Cody Ferns. If so, I also doubt either of them will get the role but for Gunn to even be entertaining them might give us a direction as to which type of actors he's looking for. Choices like Nicholas Hoult, Jack O'Connell, Fionn Whitehead, Josh Hutcherson, etc. seem like they might be in the mix now.

Mario Robles is a complete hack and fraud. Remember the Armie Hammer as Batman fiasco? Or when he did this exact **** pretending like he knew all about the casting process for Batman even before he shot his shot on Hammer and all of that turned out to be nonsense? He's a total know nothing nobody.

I am hoping it is someone who isn't an obvious choice, so that would be nice. I'm really, really averse to just going for your generic archetypal Superman actor on this - I would be enormously disappointed with basically every popular fan cast.

Internet rumors, so take it for what it is worth, but four names supposedly on the list are Cameron Cuffe, David Corenswet, Luke Eisner and Drake Rodgers.

Probably not true in the least, but Cuffe's name I find interesting if so, I liked him on "Krypton", so am intrigued by that.

Maybe, but it's still an interesting rumor and basically the only thing we have to go off on right now so it's worth entertaining for the discussion alone lmao

If it's Lerman or Cody Ferns, who else could fit in that mold?

Off the top of my head:

-Nicholas Hoult
-Aaron Taylor Johnson
-Fionn Whitehead
-Austin Butler
-Jonah Hauer King
-Harry Lawtey
-Sterling Beaumon
-Jack O'Connell
-Josh Hutcherson
-Lewis Pullman
-Kit Connor
-Dylan O'Brien

I think the casting is going to make or break this.
Just my opinion, but anyone in the ‘lean/slender’ mould would put me off straight away.

I'm watching that show right now, and I'm definitely not sold in the acting department (all the acting on this show kinda sucks tbh), but looks-wise, I don't hate it.

Lerman’s middle of the pack IMO. We could do worse, but I’m certain we could do better.

When it’s across the board like that, I think it’s fair to assume that’s more on the writing/directing than the individuals on-screen.

Unfortunately, Basso’s next biggest recent credit is playing ****ing JD Vance in that biopic I have no intention of watching.

I will not be robbed of Logan Lerman as Nightwing by anything. Wouldn't be the worst choice though, he has maybe too much of a babyface but I like him fine for it.

I’ve been watching Girls 5va lately and I reckon Paula Pell would make such a fun Granny Goodness

Josh Andres Rivera. 6’1, 27 y/o.

If his performance in West Side Story is anything to go off, he’d definitely pull off a more naturally dorky Clark.

I don’t want to be over-dramatic, but if anyone but Kathy Bates plays Granny, I’ll have to burn myself alive. :o
