I'm Reading Your Stuff: General News and Discussion Thread

Yeah, that always felt weird.
With 6 months of filming they'd have finished up on May 2024, which means around 17 months of post-production which feels... excessive for this movie. Meanwhile starting on March, 6 months of shooting, they wrap on September and have 13 months of post instead sounds a lot more reasonable.
Granted, Joker 2 just finished shooting 2 months ago so I guess it's not inconceivable. But idk, especially with how Matt likes to take his time with scripts, November always sounded off to me.

Joker 2 has a strategic release date for Oscars, I believe. That’s why it’s a little odd and late.

And then you got the Snyder cult cheering for the delay out of spite.

At this point it feels like a tree falling in a forest given the Snyderverse becomes more desperately fleeting by the day

Obviously this is a pretty upsetting speedbump, but after COVID it's hardly more than that. Few months vs upwards of 2 years lmao

If production has been pushed back until March then the timeline for casting should look pretty similar to The Batman (August - November).

There's still the looming threat of a SAG strike, so that could push things off further.

When it comes to Pennywise I strongly prefer Tim Curry. Bill Skarsgard is okay, I think he would be a good Larfleeze or Desaad.

Bill Skarsgaard's ok but he's never impressed me that much. Maybe Nosferatu will surprise me, but I was hoping for more exciting casting especially after how exciting the cast for the first film was

I just hated how "try hard" his Pennywise design was. He's not supposed to look scary at a glance.

Looking forward to seeing how Skarsgaard does in The Crow reboot, although he runs the risk of being typecast as "guy in makeup".

Skarsgaard is really let down by his most famous performance being his worst.

Gonna sidestep some questionable Pennywise opinions in this thread to say that I revisited this trailer and remembered that sweet, sweet August 2020 rush…

Like, I loved the movie and all, but this trailer was really something. Whoever edited it should’ve gotten a raise and a promotion.

Yeah, hype for this permanently shot up massively from that point on for me.
