Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Marvel's Agents of SHIELD 5x17 "The Honeymoon" Discussion Thread

Am I the only one a little thrown off by Daisy leading the team? Why isn't May taking the lead?

Daisy is probably the least qualified and least senior member of the team. Never really demonstrated leadership qualities. She's more of a lone ranger/loose canon.

Agreed, Daisy is not fit for command. Why wasn't May in charge she was the second in command after all with Coulson gone she should've assumed command.

Since they are all "Agent" there is no formal rank structure in place, Daisy was acting Director because Director Coulson said so. Sure Director Mace saw May as more than a Mission Specialist and used her as more, but Daisy is being fast tracked for higher rank to be ready take over. And like any junior officer she is put up above long service Sergeants who may be better prepared at that particular point of time to lead while they offer advice to their young Lieutenant.

All that was missing was a Star Trek computer locking everyone else out without a Coulson Daisy , or Mac when Daisy left him in charge, command code

So Talbot's wife has someone there forcing her to read a script. How long have they been standing there waiting for his call? And what if he didn't call? Does that person take up residence at Mrs Talbot's house?

think it was the same person who was talking to hale earlier in the show about a contingency plan.

I believe it was General Hale's adjutant after the first one, who worked for General Talbot was executed for not getting Coulson's team location from Fitz. I am trying to remember was she in uniform before going to Hydra prep where she was in civilian paramilitary suit before Hale let her hair down,

I have a suspicion that part of whatever conditioning Talbot was forced to undergo included an impulse to call home ASAP if he escaped. So they knew once Coulson got him out that eventually Talbot would find a way to call home and they could initiate the full trigger.

But I'm guessing. It just seems like a logical fail safe to put in.

Yeah it was a logical fail-safe. Some on Facebook think it's stupid having Talbot be a sleeper agent. It makes sense, he was held captive for months and tortured after all.

Yep. They had motive, means, and opportunity to muck his brains up. Why wouldn't they? I'd be disappointed in them as villains if they hadn't, actually.

They also repeatedly had Talbot say that "they broke me." Unfortunately without knowledge that Hale was a Whitehall protege no one on the team suspected "compliance" conditioning.

Looks like Talbot
will be the one killing Robin's mother. If Robin was any kind of a psychic it looks like she would have seen it coming a mile away.:o

She probably did and that was why she hadn't been drawing; because she was too traumatized to draw her own mother's death.
