MCU Doctor Doom

Doom can be ridiculous but he's actually a pretty complex and even tragic villain... one that just happens to speak in third person. :hehe:

Doom needs to talk like this in the MCU. :woot:

I hope wherever he appears marvel shells out for a good composer. Doom needs an epic score that says everything about him.

Something like this

Right, right. They should probably scout the top Shakespeare companies in the UK and US, as DOOM! is very much Victor's stage persona.

You know who my dream pick is? F Murray Abraham

Doom is secretly afraid he is the Salieri to Reed’s Mozart

Doom’s Romani. They should at least cast someone from South Asia for the role.

south asia? Romani are eastern Europeans most look like Mediterranean maybe. I wouldn't want them to pick an Indian actor or something, as they haven't been in India for over a 1000 years. Of course the look may not matter as he will be in a suit of armor 90% of the time. The voice matters the most.

I really dont think they should go with a man thats near 80. Maybe 60 at the most

From Wikipedia:

The Romani, colloquially known as Gypsies or Roma, are a traditionally itinerant ethnic group, living mostly in Europe and the Americas and originating from the northern Indian subcontinent, from the Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Sindh regions of modern-day India and Pakistan.

Mads Mikkelsson. This guy's the living embodiment of Doom. If there can be one exception to recasting an actor that's already appeared in the Mcu, this is the one. Just add a touch of makeup and it's good to go! Lol.

Theres already been multiple actors that have played more than one role in the MCU

Watch Mads performance in Hannibal....listen to that elegant dialogue roll of his tongue...now take that performance and stick him behind mask and Doom is born....THE TRUE VERSION!!!!

Oh I wasn't aware of that. Who were they btw?..
Well if they're still open to it, I'd say 'What the heck? Why not?'

Never watched that show but I've seen Casino Royale and him doing general interviews and all I can see was 'Oh there's Doom at the poker table or oh, Doom being interviewed. ' lol. Seriously, this dude needs to be Doctor Doom!

The list plays loose with some but here was an article that came out last year

https://www.cbr.com/two-actor-roles-mcu/

With that said, I dont see them using Mads in another role, but it can be done. Doom is masked all the time. Thats core to his character. We only need to see his face for an origin story and that wouldnt equate to a lot of screentime

Most Romani that I have met don't look anything like someone from India. I suspect that is because they left India over a thousand years ago.

Thanks for the link! I'll check it. :yay:

I really wish Mads Mikkelsen wasn’t already in the MCU. He would have been a perfect Doom.

The correct answer is Tobias Menzies.

no, because.....

bingo. They left India centuries ago and have been intermarrying with eastern Europeans for 75 generations.

The same way the Jews who left the Mideast millenia ago don't look the same as Jews who stayed in the middle east -- north Africa, Turkey, Persia, etc.

I'd love to see who they get to play him. He is supposed to be strikingly handsome -- which is why with his huge ego he freaks out about the little scar on his face -- which he later totally destroys with the hot mask.

Sorry again. There is something seriously wrong with my computer. I never had this problem before.

As long as I am stuck with this double post correction let me ask -- is the casting of Doom the most important in the FF movie? (Assuming he appears in the first MCU FF movie.)

You know, his older brother Lars Mikkelsen is also an incredibly talented and imposing actor. He played the bad guy in season 3 of Sherlock (the one with Cumberbatch and freeman) and he was so skincrawlingly creepy in that

This is pretty much what my fantasy is for Doom’s score will be. I could see him stomping superheroes to this

Someone suggested Adam Driver on another forum I was on. I would hate to see a Doom Jnr type Doom. Like a bad boy doom who is so naughty but it’s ok because maybe if you just loved him enough he would change.

I would steely fighting gods I don’t care what you think Doom

Matt Smith is probably the closest we’ll get to a Ralph Fiennes Doom. He’d get my vote if it came down to it.

(He’s come up for Mr. Fantastic but I prefer it when he’s the arrogant aristocrat.)

Why not just get Ralph Fiennes?

I was wondering actually maybe they might do the darth Vader thing and get two actors, one for his physical performance and another for his voice. So you get a David prowse physically imposing person like Michael Wayne foster and get Jim Carter (Downton Abbey) to do the voice

I feel like that would be pretty unnecessary and weren’t you the one wondering if audiences would unfairly compare Doom to Vader earlier in the thread? What’s there to gain in drawing a much more direct line to contrast the two? The likely thing to happen is that Doom will get get the biggest name of the cast and might be cast younger than well expect.
