You should really check it out, one of my favorites of the franchise. Felt like a mash-up of OT and prequel Lucas, but with an ear for dialogue and talent for directing that he never had. I personally thought TFA was just okay, so it was incredibly satisfying to see TLJ improve on it in just about every way.

I'm curious, have you watched any of Rian Johnson's other films (Brick, The Brothers Bloom, Looper) or his episodes of Breaking Bad?

The Last Jedi basically had all of the problems that TFA had, but none of the good stuff. And then it had problems of it's own. I call it "The Last Dumpster Fire" for a reason, and it was clearly made by a guy who couldn't care less about the history of the franchise or established characterization.

It's one of the few times that I've actually left a film flat-out angry, it was that bad imo.

It's amazing to me that this film can inspire such divergent reactions.

Solo
Rogue One
The Force Awakens
The Last Jedi
Revenge of the Sith
Attack of the Clones
The Phantom Menace

(Honestly, all three of the prequels are tied for last place... trying to figure out which one is best is like choosing between drinking spoiled milk, eating a cheesburger you found in the gutter and snorting a line of live ants.)

My favorite Star Wars Movies in order:

The Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
A New Hope
Solo
The Force Awakens
Revenge of the Sith
Attack of the Clones
The Phantom Menace
The Last Jedi
Rogue One

I honestly love almost every one of them,
but "The Empire Strikes Back" is absolutely epic.

Smart man. Avoid TLJ at all cost.

See, I don't buy that for a second. Nobody who bothers taking even a little time to rank all of the Star Wars films in order of best to worst hasn't seen all of the movies.

Lame.

On a Superhero message board of all places.

People can hate TLJ all they want but if you objectively believe it's a worse movie than the Star Wars prequels... I hope to God you didn't go to film school because if you did, you wasted your money.

7) Solo
6) Revenge Of The Sith

Well I am never going to film school, and would take ROTS over TLJ anyday.

1. A New Hope (10/10)
2. The Empire Strikes Back (10/10)
3. Return Of The Jedi (10/10)
4. Solo (9/10) - Perked me up about the series somewhat. Definitely the best of the Disney attempts at Star Wars. Fun, intriguing, engaging, involving characters I'm able to give a **** about.
5. The Force Awakens - (8.5/10) A movie with potential squandered by the mundanity of its sequel.
6. Rogue One - (8/10) Rogue One isn't a life changing movie, nor is it a game changing star wars movie. It really isn't anything but a fun little romp. And it connects well with Star Wars imagery so I don't fault it for that. Its plot is riddled weirdly with conveniences and moments of genuinely good, heartfelt acting. Topped off with a ****** darth vader pun while we cheer for the villain because we barely care about the heroes?
7. The Last Jedi - (7.5/10) Basically **** this movie. I have no love for it and it barely scrapes this 7.5 rating. It drags down Force Awakens, it drags down Star Wars as a series. Its stupid and boring and thrashes through the awesomeness that is Skywalker lore, etc. Buried by the fear in its limitations.
8. Revenge Of The Sith - (5.5/10) I enjoy much of the action and plot. Just the right amount of jar jar.
9. Attack Of The Clones - (4/10) Barely watchable, but less jar jar and no jake lloyd, more obi wan = better than TPM.
10. The Phantom Menace - (4/10) Barely watchable save for darth maul.
