Didn't he ban Prowse from attending all Star Wars conventions and press tours because he thought that he leaked information about Darth Vader's death? I think they fell out anyway.

I kind of want to see a version of the trilogy with Prowse’s voice.

Poor David Prowse. I found out that he was even dubbed in his early appearances as the Green Cross Code Man. He couldn't even catch a break when appearing in human form. No-one wanted his farmer's accent.

RIP to Dave Prowse.

I met him around 30 years ago. I took the CLOCKWORK ORANGE soundtrack to be signed because I had read he was very proud of the movie. As I stood in a very long line to get his autograph I heard a bunch of the people pretty much say and ask the same few questions about STAR WARS. He would give a polite answer and they would move on. When it was my turn, I handed him the album and asked what it was like working with Kubrick. A big grin came to his face, he leaned back in his chair and put his arms behind his head and said "Ahhhh....let me tell you about Stanley." He then talked to me for about 20 minutes telling me several stories about Kubrick until an assistant reminded him he needed to let the line move again.
RIP Mr. Prowse....you were a gentleman.

George Lucas has released a statement:

“David brought a physicality to Darth Vader that was essential for the character. He made Vader leap off the page and on to the big screen, with an imposing stature and movement performance to match the intensity and undercurrent of Vader’s presence. David was up for anything and contributed to the success of what would become. May he Rest In Peace.”

Better than nothing I suppose, but I feel Dave Prowse deserves more than those few words.

I was fortunate to call David Prowse, 'Uncle Dave' and met him on a number of occasions during the 80's through my Dad's work (my Dad worked in Road Safety and Dave did campaign work with Dad as the Green Cross Code man here in the UK) and will miss him greatly. RIP Uncle Dave. Especially fond memories chatting to him in the build up to TESB, during the spring of 1980.

I'm sorry but... His Vader would have sounded like the nice guy that runs the cafe' around the block who pushes his wife's home made biscuitts like a good husband should.

"Oh, come... You can stop off for a spot of tea and some of Viv's biscuitts, can't ya? Got the match on the telly right now..."

David Prowse played a massive part in bringing to life one of the most beloved characters in fiction. Without him, there is no Darth Vader. He was clearly so much more then that, but all I can do is thank him for all that he gave to me as a fan of Star Wars, and hope that wherever he is now, the Force is with him.

Stuntman and director Chuck Bail dies from covid at age 85 Chuck Bail, Famed Stuntman and 'Gumball Rally' Director, Dies at 85 - Chuck was a stuntman for 40 years and directed such movies as THE GUMBALL RALLY and CLEOPATRA JONES AND THE CASINO OF GOLD, and acted in various TV shows and movies, most notably the Peter O'Toole movie THE STUNTMAN where he played the movie's stunt coordinator (which he actually was). I coincidentally watched THE GUMBALL RALLY just last week.
