10.15 - Fortune - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I fully expected last night's episode to be awful, but it was ................................. ok.

Not a fantastic episode by any means, but better than I expected.

I just noticed that in this episode they did up Lois' hair like in the earlier seasons...

Night owl I don't see need that every episode had to be serious. This was pretty much a one shot episode. And its always nice to get one last fun, light episode out. Before they get back to the serious stuff. Plus we saw a nice wrap to chloe and all. So sure it was a filler and all. But it still was a fun episode in my book.

Im not saying it has to be serious. But that episode was just ridiculous. Like its the last season. All i want is a decent weekly storyline that builds up to an epic finale with tom in the suit. I dont want an episode that makes me feel i should be 10 to watch it. It was just crap. Nothing to do with anything. Although i did like chloes reference to batman and wonder woman ;). I also think she deserved a better send off. UGh maybe its just me, i really really really really hate fillers :waa:

also why wasnt clark wearing his glasses??? If hes just going to wear them in the planet thats just ridiculous

Sure it probably should have been at start of the season. But for me personally I didn't really have much issue with the episode. It was nice to have a little fun. Since we know things will be back to serious stuff for the rest of the season. They still have plently of time in the last 7 episodes to resolve the alexander/conner clone, more stuff with lois/clark at dp/clark kent identity and the push to superman and showdown with darkseid.

But Smallville really isn't a serious show, it's light drama at the most. It's not like they needed to "break the tension," Breaking Bad is a show that needs to break tension as it's so dark.

Meh. It was alright. Seemed like the ultimate filler episode. It's great to see the crazy side of all the characters but none of it was particulary that important.

WAAAYY too much Chloe, as usual.

Seeing as it is possibly her final episode.... i don't see why not focus a bit on her...

I'm not much of a Chloe fan, but I have no problem with her starring in her last episode of the series. She's been around since Day One.

Filler or not, I dont think I've ever laughed so much during an episode of Smallville, so it gets big points from me regarding that and yeah, maybe the timing wasn't right for such an episode, but the writers had to wait for Allison to be available. Its not always as easy as it seems to write and plan the season exactly how they want it and have it flow seamlessly.

But good riddance Chloe!! :hehe:

So if Chloe does not show up for the Wedding & Lois has never been a Tess fan I guess her sister would be maid of honor #2 ?

FINALLY!!! someone else notices this lol, I was sitting there watching saying "hey....in the last episode didnt he say he was going to wear dem glasses now.........wtf??" :oldrazz:

Chances are the explanation will be "he was at home with friends and after he was drunk anyway" :S still not a great excuse but meh....what to do.

I'd laugh so much if in the episode where Laura Vandervoort comes back, she's wearing her Linda Danvers disguise and Clark is........well........Mr. Kent, they bump into each other and not notice then do a double take and go hhheeyyy wait a minute lol

He's only going to wear glasses when he works at the Daily Planet or is doing investigations for them.

Here's Chloe in all the seasons:
Seasons 1-4 - Editor of the Smallville Torch and Clark's friend
Season 5 - Learns Clark's secret and works at the Daily Planet and goes to
Metropolis University.
Season 6 - Becomes a meteor freak and becomes the original Watchtower
Season 7 - Removed from the Daily Planet and works at the Isis Foundation
Season 8 - Possesses Brainiac's powers, kills someone with it, continues to
work at the Isis Foundation, and was in a love triangle with
Doomsday and Henry James Olsen.
Season 9 - Becomes Watchtower full-time as she displays Big Sister tactics.
Season 10 - Leads the Suicide Squad, suddenly can fight, armed with 2 guns,
becomes a reporter for Star City, searching for other heroes,
and is married to Oliver Queen.

We don't really know if we are actually going to see a wedding happen within the last episodes. It could happen down the road and all that. An ya I saw no issue with chloe having a decent screen time in her final episode and I though her end was nice better then others. And like I have said no issue with having a fun episode.

As for chloe fighting as seen in certain episodes she isn't that great. Can do a few kicks/punchs and used weapons like a book, chair leg and other items to knock out folks. Same with her gun skills. She was only good in vr world. And outside she hasn't shot anyone and when she used said gun last night she didn't shot anyone. Missed a guy and then shot a lighting thing that fell onto guy.

I can't see a wedding between Clark and Lois happening when Clark isn't Superman yet. I enjoyed seeing Clark, Tess, and Chloe investigating together at Watchtower and that the role is finally passed from Chloe to Tess. :super:

Omg!! If the theres a wedding in the finale i just might kill myself lol

I would not mind the wedding if its in the last 5 minutes. Like maybe after Darkseid is defeated, we get some scenes of everyone getting together and there is wedding ceremony. Then, finally we get Clark putting on the suit and flies off. The End.

I would rather have them do the wedding before the final fight. In a we may not survive this fight type of thing so lets get it over with type way & then the suit reveal & then the first flight & final fight

I second this notion. My version would be that the finale is similar to Fantastic Four 2, in that we hear about a wedding that is like a day away, but then something big happens to postpone it and Clark has to deal with it. Then towards the end, after he defeats Darkseid in his Superman gear, he looks at Lois and is reminded of how much he loves her and can't wait to marry her, which finally happens in the last 5 minutes of the episode, giving it a happy note with everyone attending. Then, like in Spider-Man 2, right when they're about to start the honeymoon, Clark gets news of some kind of disturbance, in which Lois tells him, this "looks like a job for Superman". He smiles, shirt rip, and flies off. The End.

Of course, an alternate ending would include Clark in Superman gear flying off with Lois in her wedding dress.

You guys realize that this final episode of Chloe is also her 200th one, right?

As for Lois, she was more concerned about her engagement ring than anything else while Oliver and Chloe were fighting the Royal Flush Gang. It's as if Lois and Chloe switched roles and there was no parting scene between them, unless it was a deleted scene. Lois has not really benefited from Chloe's return at all. :super:

I wouldn't mind a wedding either, as long as its not main focus of said episode. Or if lois/clark decided to just have a little simple marriage. But I definately don't want the end to just be a shirt rip flyway scene. We need more to it. And def need clark in the suit for a few scenes in finale.

Why couldn't Chloe have just died in that house explosion and had saved us all this crap the last 6 years?

Well I found tonight's episode pretty hilarious actually. Definitely got "The Hangover" vibe from it. :D

Can't wait for next week's episode.

Chloe is the ultimate hero on this show! :woot:
Without her inspiring Clark there would be no Superman, no other heroes!
I love it! :hrt:
