Mahershala Ali is gonna be 60 by the time Blade gets off the ground

Marvel/Disney should seriously think is recasting if they have future plans for Blade outside a single movie
At this point it wouldn't surprised me if its 1 and done like The Incredible Hulk and Black Widow. Though I think Blade would definitely show up in an Avenger movie.

Daredevil could have been a start of another series of solo series, but they passed on that and put Daredevil on a streaming series once again. So who knows at this point which characters they plan to give a handful of solo movies.

Anyway, as long I get more Fantastic 4 and X-Men movies in the future, I won't complain.

A shame as I wanted the new MCU Blade to hang around for a long time setting up the undead side of the universe and eventually leading to Midnight Sons.

I think he could stick around after his solo movie. However, 2 to 3 solo Blade movies aren't just realistic at this point. Marvel Studios just keeps delaying this thing for whatever reason, and projects like Thunderbolts, New World Order, Daredevil Reborn, Echo and Wonder Man were filmed first despite those projects only being officially announced more than a year of the announcement for Marvel Studios' Blade.

A film like this especially under Marvel Studios shouldn't be taking so long.

They’ve swapped creatives a few times. Things haven’t gone smoothly unfortunately. Just hope they get it right when they do release it.

The MCU is horrible at managing release times for movies/story lines that have already been teased in previous films. Blade was teased at the very end of Eternals, with AT LEAST a five year gap until that tease is paid off.

Hell, it's already been six years since we found out the Avengers Tower was sold, and there's no end in site on the reveal of the new owner.

I wonder if the constant delays had anything to do with the comics finally reintroducing Blade's daughter last year, after the idea had originally been announced and then cancelled back in 2015. They might want to have an easy way to continue the franchise ready to go for whenever Ali wants to quit.

I doubt the happenings in the current comics has any bearings with Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Anyway, I'm tired of seeing "passing the batton to someone else". Like how about just give someone their own identity instead of taking the mantle of someone.

Iron Man > Ironheart
Captain America > Sam Wilson
Hank > Scott
Janet > Hope
Clint > Kate
T'Challa > Shuri (T'Challa should have been recast)
Natasha > Yelena

I'm giving them Jane Foster a pass since she was killed right away as Thor. While She Hulk is the only legacy character I am fine with it. The rest are overkill.

Loki: The Dark World - Oct 6 to Nov 10 (6 weeks run)
Echo - Nov 29 (all episodes)

So thats 3 MCU films and 3 MCU series for 2023.

Oh, so Echo is very soon after Loki then.
I thought they were gonna lowkey release it in December. They just have too many shows already filmed to really space them out. Echo feels like MCU filler so I'm not surprised they are releasing it so soon after Loki.

Lowkey, as in Loki. :funny: :O

Can't see Echo doing well at all.

I know we were talking about whether or not Marvel would appear at SDCC due to the Writer's strike and I figured I'd post a few recent tweets I saw about it. So Alex from CC seems to think that Marvel is still planning for it but if the strike continues onward, they may cancel and make their annoucments another way.

Alaqua Cox seems like she confirming there's a panel for SDCC. Again assuming it doesn't get cancelled due to the strike.

And finally Deadline is reporting that it seems SAG is potentially lining up to go on strike as well. Which could throw whole other wrench at everything

Never really thought about it because of how adorable the moment was..
but why is that character's name Yukio?
A much more comic accurate Yukio was in The Wolverine
Her name probably should've been Noriko, no?
Obviously they didn't care about the Yukio in The Wolverine, just like how the Colossus here is unrelated to the X2 version. Kinda sucks Marvel Studios is giving foXverse an eXtended life in the form of Deadpool 3... good Lord!

X-Men fans: can't wait for the X-Men in the mcu!!!11
Marvel Studios: Deadpool 3 first in 2024 featuring Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and the entire Deadpool 2's cast!

:clown:

Yup, have been saying the same thing since the movie came out. Why reuse the name when they already used it for an important character in The Wolverine? Why not make her Noriko since that's an existing character who is also a Japanese Xavier student with electric powers and brightly colored hair? Sometimes I just don't get decisions for these movies.

They also used X-Force as a 3 minute gag and killed off those new recruits eXcept for Domino and a made up character "Peter".

You can just tell how the people involved with the Deadpool movies is honoring the comics, similar to the previous X-Men movies. And oh there's also that New Mutants movie...

Its truly a sad realization that we could have been already anticipating a new take on the mutants, but Kevin Feige decided to bring the foX version of the Wolverine, Colossus, Deadpool, Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio once more! And its not even comparable to Sir Patrick Stewart's the Professor who was merely a glorified cameo in Multiverse of Madness and was later killed off in the movie.

Its fine if they want to keep 1 character (Ryan Reynolds as himself/Deadpool) because money is power. But there was no need to give this crew another movie. This is why I want the Multiverse Saga to end so soon. Waiting for a new take of X-Men just got longer and who the f*** knows if they are really going to reboot characters like Colossus eventually. I don't care much about the Wolverine but damn, Hugh Jackman should have done what he said years ago, when he said he was done with the role.

Deadpool is just a comedy offshoot. I’ll enjoy it when it comes out but nothing that happens in it will matter for the MCU beyond being a gag.

I wouldn't mind this much IF only this is under 20th Century Studios instead of Marvel Studios.

More Deadpool movies under Marvel Studios could potentially mean that it would prolong the wait for more X-Men movies.

Don't see why it makes much of a difference really. It's only going to be one film and if it's good it will help with general MCU enthusiasm. We need the MCU to be in a positive place ahead of when X-Men launches so that it can take full advantage of general MCU goodwill as well as whatever it earns on its own merits.

I'm pretty sure his last name is "Wisdom". So not totally made up, but a comics character in name only.

Yeah, for as much as the DP movies have been much more comic accurate than most of the other Fox movies, they still occasionally pull s*** like completely changing Peter and Yukio. They combined Marvel's love of self-deprecating jokes and Fox's uneasiness with direct adaptation

Hopefully things start getting faithful again by the time of MCU X-Men.
