Civil War Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty - (Chris Evans) - Part 1

Whew, glad to hear. Since he talked extensively about his anxiety in the Rolling Stone article, it would be awful if a stranger just went and did that anyway.

Great stuff

Hemsworth kinda looks like he doesn't want to be there

but Hiddleston holding dog-thor is fantastic

Just rewatched both Avengers. Am I the only who think Whedon write entirely different character and not Cap from solo movies?
The "language" thing from a guy who grew up poor in Depression-era Brooklyn and fought in the Army in WW2?
"Son, just don't" - WTF man you're 26-year old, why so much posturing? And so on.

I agree. I feel like Whedon is slightly patronizing to Cap, since he's a cynic by nature.

Yeah I felt the same way too. I was like if we had cap from the Whedon avengers movies he would be on team iron man lol.

At the last comic-con Evans said that he fought Joss about the "language" line, he didn't want it to be in the movie. So, yeah, I think Whedon's Cap definitely was slightly out of the character.

A lot of people disliked the "Language" bit, but I thought it worked initially. It was only when they kept beating it into the ground throughout the rest of the movie that it really fell apart.

I thought the "language" joke was funny as hell....and thought it was hilarious when they brought it up throughout the rest of the movie.

Well, I know that Chris Evans HATED it.

How did Cap break into the super prison and bust the team out when we saw how difficult it was for that to happen when Tony stopped by?

I am with you on this, worked first time but wish they had let it go after that.
I like to think he said it in the heat of the moment, forgetting he wasn't back fighting along side Bucky, rather than just censoring Tony. The guy has been in the army, I am sure he has heard and said worse.

Sharon helped him out. Sharon Carter is an awesome character it turns out. It just happens that all the cool stuff she does all happens offscreen, or off panel(as some comic geeks would say).

Well then, between the "language" line (which I loved) and his opposition right off the bat to the Sharon relationship...
I'm glad Mr. Evans doesn't write these movies himself

Yeah, he even said "Sorry. It just slipped out."

Oo i think I missed that bit!
Definitely do not like that it was brought up so many times after now.
I am curious to why Chris himself hated the line, I hadn't heard that before reading it on here today.

I saw some meta that tried to explain that it was something he used to joke around with Bucky and the Howling Commandos with, because they had to watch their public image. (Which would be funny to them because Steve didn't exactly sign up to be a USO showgirl either, but ended up doing it to help the war effort.)

But since the movies are PG-13, they couldn't have anyone curse up a storm to really bring that message home. :oldrazz:

As it is, it's out of character, since in TFA, bitty Steve is such a little s*** to start with. You don't picture that guy suddenly being concerned about people's language, as long as you aren't bullying anybody.

Really, guys? Really??

It was a funny line, that's it.
everyone here laughed at the line, you know you did.
But now its "oh it's so out of character" and "Whedon sucks at writing Cap"
this revisionist history of Whedon's films is getting outta hand

T'Challa.

Also likely Hank Pym and/or Hope van Dyne.

Plus the simple fact that he's Captain America. We've had several movies now to establish that he Really Is That Good. I suspect that as soon as he had a reasonably detailed set of specs on the Raft, the actual assault plan was not overly difficult. It might even have been as "simple" as "sabotage external communication, walk through the guards like an unstoppable god of war".

That sounds awesome and I would pay to watch such a badass scene. But remember: Steve doesn't have the shield. We have seen he is no slouch without it, but it's a big part of what makes him that unstoppable.
In his current state, I imagine a combination of his own skills and some external help (T'challa, Black Widow, Hank/Hope or others) would be more believable.
Will they care enough to tell us how it happened one day? :woot:

Yes... There are assumptions made about fictional technology... Still... the reasoning here is why even though the final fight is a great scene it really doesn't pass the smell test... Unless Cap and Bucky are suddenly in the Hulk/Thor strength level:[YT]2yAJSTXkpQY[/YT]
