I doubt they are actually changing the shows title.

I really don't like "Blackbirds" as a title. I think they may be going for a Beatles reference here which is apt for Dick, Barbara, Raven and Kori but the GA tuning in would be terribly confused.

I'm also worried that these Titans are going to be severely "powered-down". Starfire & Raven need to be bad-ass.

You could have called it Teen Titans, Titans, or Young Justice. Naw, let's call it Blackbirds.

What. The. F***.

:down

Most likely a psuedio name. Remember when Daredevil was dubbed "Bluff" when it started filming?

If this is for real, then I'll need TNT to go to the corner with a dunce cap and think about what they've done

Sounds good, even if it sucks it is taking them forever to get the project started. But cant wait to see the show when it finally starts.

‘Titans’ DC Comics Drama Dead At TNT – TCA

TNT has opted not to proceed with Teen Titans live-action drama Titans, which had been ordered to pilot by the previous network regime. “We decided it wasn’t where we wanted to go,” TNT president Kevin Reilly said at TCA.

Reilly initially left Titans in development after he took over TNT and TBS and held conversations with the project’s co-creator, Akiva Goldsman. “I think it’s going to end up being a very, very interesting offering,” Reilly told our sister publication TV Line in May. “I think it’s going to be excellent.”

Written by Oscar winner Goldsman and executive-turned-scribe Marc Haimes, Titans was to revolve around the eponymous group of young superheroes-to-be from the DC Universe. The action series was centered on Dick Grayson — better known for his alter ego as Robin — who emerges from the shadow of Batman to become Nightwing, the leader of a fearless band of new superheroes including Starfire, Raven and many others. Goldsman executive produced, with Haimes serving as co-executive producer for Warner Horizon.

Titans was part of TNT’s previous strategy for popcorn, four-quadrant entertainment. The network is now moving into darker territory with edgier fare.

Titans can be plenty dark but that sucks. I would kill for a Titans show. If only CW had the budget and space for one.

Ah well. Maybe Nightwing will now show up on Arrow?

Safe to say this project is officially now dead. With the news that Nightwing is now a property that the film division is working on. Glad.

well not necessarily. 4 reasons
but alot can happen. one.

1)most of dc movies have been troubled of including batman of late sadly. I hope this isn't the case for Nightwing even though I feel he be better for tv in the titans . and actor that plays him will have long cretted carreer as him.

2) the movie of night falls apart due to creative differences . (which I hope doesn't happen) but this has been happening alot of late. I hope the director from the lego movies can pull it off . but he has difficult task.

3) there is room for night wing in both live action medium's. we've seen it happening with flash. So there's no reason for nightwing not to do it too. one in the movies where he's a solo act and on tv where he's on a team in thier 20's and teaching the teens with arsenal and wally west add inthe two other senor titans ETC .

4) if he just still no available & cause people at dc are being difficult, Arsenal has lead the titans next to night wing often and so has wonder woman's half sister Donna troy Troia.

There still ways to do the titan's you just have to not be a difficult person which I hope the dc executive keep an open mind on how to do this.

simple have the titan in the early to mid 20's and add in late teens as members for season 2 .

Seems that this is going to get new life through a DC outlet.

'Titans' and 'Young Justice: Outsiders' to Debut on Upcoming DC-Branded Digital Service
Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment Announce All-New Live-Action Series “Titans,” from Executive Producers Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, To Debut In 2018

Series Will Air Exclusively on Upcoming DC-Branded Direct-to-Consumer Digital Service

Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment today announced that executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter are teaming up for the all-new live-action drama series “Titans,” which will debut in 2018. Additionally, Warner Bros. Animation’s “Young Justice: Outsiders,” the highly anticipated third season of the popular “Young Justice” series, is also ramping up for its first mission next year.

Both fan-driven series are in early stages of production and will air exclusively on a DC-branded direct-to-consumer digital service in 2018. Operated by Warner Bros. Digital Networks Group, the new digital service will deliver an immersive experience designed just for DC fans.

“Titans” follows a group of young soon-to-be Super Heroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In this action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others. “Titans” is a dramatic, live-action adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book teams ever.

“Titans” will be written by Akiva Goldsman (“Star Trek: Discovery,” “Underground”), Geoff Johns (President & Chief Creative Officer, DC Entertainment; “The Flash,” “Arrow”) and Greg Berlanti (“Arrow,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl”). Goldsman, Johns, Berlanti and Sarah Schechter (“Arrow,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl”) are executive producers of the series from Weed Road Pictures and Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

They had me until the streaming service part.

if it's free, or if eps get put on the service for free afterwards like a day or week later, then ok.

but if it requires a subscription like Netflix of Hulu or whatever, then no thanks.

and if it's only for a streaming service, and not on actual TV, I wonder about the budget and quality.

If they imitate Netflix, then I'm in. It reminds me of when Marvel stopped selling their rights, created their own studios and decided to make their own movies. Now it looks like DC is doing the same but wit their shows, which can be good. I'm hoping we'll get a quality as good as Netflix and if it does look good, I don't mind paying. I mean those shows are really superior to CW's and Freeform, at least to me. And I was dreading a TNT's Titans to be honest.

So would it be set within the DCEU? Seems weird for them to own the content and distribution, just like they do for the film universe, but have it be separate.

Especially in a climate where people sort of expect everything to be connected now. Isn't that terrible Powerless show supposed to be set in the DCEU?

oh?? it's supposed to be tied to the DCEU??
