The Mandalorian Chapter Eleven Spoiler Discussion

Excellent episode, deserved to be twice as long as it was but it was quality which was the main thing, I hope we get more like it. Some great new characters added and loads of nice classic SW nods to geek out at but it doesnt feel contrived or forced in any way, good stuff.

So:
New Mandos
Death Watch
Mauldalorians
And now, Children of the Watch.

Works for me.

Boba confirmed to not be Mando!!!!

I desperately want a book of the time Obi-wan and Qui-gon were protecting Satine. So much great potential there. Between the Obi/Satine stuff, but more Obi/Qui-gon stuff. And then some more Mando stuff. As much as people seem to hate Lucas for invalidating the Traviss fanwankery, I really do like the new Mando lore that is being established.

Good episode. Loved seeing all the Mon Cal and Quarrens on the water planet. The poor Razercrest is going to need an upgrade similar to what the Mando's armor got last season. Loved seeing Bo-Katan in live action again. And her companions were fun as well, if I just wish their armor was a bit more colorful from Death Watch standard blue. Also nice to see the Gozanti cruiser in live action, albeit without carrying the TIEs. And it is interesting bit with Gideon, as it sounds like he has more forces than I originally thought. Short, but still good. Hope Bo-katan and her squad returns.
I also want an Obi and Satine book. They were cute together in Clone Wars. I think Obi and her hooked up at least once when they were in the trenches when they were young.

The trick is, I'm not so sure Moff Gideon is as much of a zealot as he's inspired within his subjects.
Yeah, he seems to be have control of his emotions and know the score. I’m really optimistic that he can turn into a classic villain. Top actor of course and I think he’s going to get some great material. I’m glad they didn’t resolve his story in season 1.

I’m going to get lost if this keeps up, haha. My knowledge of the lore is nowhere near you guys. Having many different lines of Mandalorians is an exciting prospect and I’d like to understand it all properly.

I like that Gideon and his people are also zealots.

See, I don't actually really agree. In my eyes, the imperials in this ep certainly didn't *look* like zealots. They looked scared ****less, like they increasingly knew they were doomed and that there was nothing they could do about it. Even the captain of the ship did not have that air of certainty to him. Yes, he did attempt to crash the ship and then later killed himself. . . but he pretty much said "Its because I'm more scared of my boss than dying". That isn't zealotry so much as submission. Also, from what we've seen of Gideon, it possibly just *fact*; committing suicide is a rational act if the alternative is "My boss finds me and kills me, just as certainly but slower and more painfully". Or possibly "My boss does the afforementioned to people I care about".

we need a gif of that 'chowder monster' grabbing the child by the face lol

I thought it was a bit odd seeing Bo Katan save Djarin twice in quick succession. The second time felt fairly needless. Either they should have extended the conversation in the first encounter or had the second encounter later on after other story development.

I'd also would have liked to have seen more of Titus' Imperial officer. He's pretty much stuck on the bridge and the Mandalorians don't really struggle to reach him. I think it would have looked better had he personally lead stormtrooper forces in a hard fought battle ending with him forced to retreat.

It was nice seeing them storm an Imperial ship taking on stormtroopers though.

Ehhh, they hide the lines of the budget pretty well. And even with the increase in season 2, you can still kind of see the edges.
I feel like it has been a little more obvious this year, mainly as what they have been going for has been a bit bigger. Still, more then satisfactory imo.

The backdrops have felt more noticeable this season to me. It's not the worst thing or anything, but there have been a lot of moments where I feel like it's obvious the background is only a couple feet behind the actors. It does make it kind of retroactively funny though to think about how many people were talking about finishing or changing big, expensive movies on the budget of this show - the budget just doesn't feel like it's quite there for it. Not bad, but I do find a lot of moments just... "off."

Who could you ever bee talking about? :o

Seeing Bo Katan in live action was great. I really enjoyed this episode and I'm pumped for Ahsoka next week.

Though Mando, come one. You know Baby Yoda isn't your pet. He's your child. Stop denying it. :funny:

Ahsoka probably isn't next week. Filoni directed 5, so probably that episode.
