The All Things Flash Thread. - Part 2

@ the 4:38 mark in this Youtube video, it shows fan mockups of what Sasha could look like as Supergirl, both with dark hair and blonde.

I think she'd look good either way. But again, after seeing this mockup, I see no reason why she shouldn't be able to pull off the traditional blonde look for the character. There would really be no reason why they'd need to change the classic look of the character.

Yeah I think she should be blonde in the movie as well.

However, Aquaman isn't a blonde in the dceu so I won't be surprised if they don't dye her hair for the role.

Noticed that Jessica Chastain commented on the video. Maybe she’s in.

I do think the reveal of a super girl in the DCEU was underwhelming.... this should have demanded a better press release..

Same with Keaton's return. It's all been very underwhelming.

Blonde for Supergirl, Brunette for Kara Danvers

Does anyone think Warners should move up the release date? I think it should have a couple weeks to itself, rather than compete with Marvel Studios' output in late July or early November.

I am totally fine if WB moves it to September or October 2022. Muschietti's IT movies cleaned up in the post-Labor Day weekend in 2017 and 2019.

Yes, Keaton's was almost a throw away click bait article..

If they had a press release, then had Keaton walk out on stage, that would have been call... Then they have Sasha walk out, and then have the logo appear and name - that be epic.

I mean, they acted so much on this interactive panel thing instead of comic con, did they not learn anything?

Imagine having the cast for the flash... initial cast..

Then, they have Ben Affleck walk out stop and say (after Miller say's I am the flash) "I'm Batman" only for Keaton to walk out, in BM89 Keaton style and say... "actually.... I'm Batman" that would be something...

I think they could be related. As far as the S, well they wouldn't make a new costume yet so i don't think that confirms anything

Like someone else said, if they’re going to keep her Supergirl look a secret, Muschietti would’ve just pulled out a generic t shirt with the S logo on it. But yeah, I shouldn’t look too much into it.

December would be a better month than September and October boX office wise.

Aquaman 2 and Avatar 2 are going to be battling it out that month.

People will see blockbusters any time of the year once the pandemic is over. IT did summer numbers in September 2017 ($700M worldwide), Venom hit $800M October 2018 and Joker hit $1B in October 2019.

Plus the movie would hit digital and home video in time for Christmas.

Her look is still a secret. Pulling out the Cavill costume doesnt reveal anything. The costume is much more impactful than some generic shirt. We know that they use old costumes all the time for the actors, this is nothing different.

I don't see Aquaman being released neXt year.

Holiday numbers are still bigger in September and October though. Thats why I suggested December.

If a spot opens for December 2022, then WB should take it. Box office numbers are definitely better during the holiday season, but Disney keeps snapping up the best spots years in advance.

But there’s another question: why fight competition for audience eyeballs during peak weekends when there’s ample real estate in the fall? Exhibitors love it when there’s a potentially big movie or two in the fall alongside awards contenders. And they can book more shows easily if buzz grows for a title like IT (which started off at $40M o.w. projection to a stunning $123M actual).

Superhero films aren't tried and tested for a month like September iirc. If I'm not wrong, schools open during September in America. While October in the past both had Venom and Joker (though I wouldn't call those two as superheroes). December is still the month that families imo have more time to go out and see movies in theaters due to the holidays.

Now I wouldn't rule out a summer release IF they could film this ahead of time.

Y'all worried about how they announce castings? Lol it's not that big of a deal

That doesn't prevent families from going to the movies on the weekends. Studios have broken the mold for when big tentpole movies be released -- even when kids are in school. Deadpool and Black Panther turned out summer-level numbers in February, ditto for first Hunger Games and BvS in March, and Avengers and F&F films in April. Endgame broke records worldwide in April -- and most kids were still in school.

Also think Black Adam will get a summer 2022 release once that movie starts production.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the release dates get shuffled. It happens even in non-COVID times.
Maybe Supergirl is who Cyborg was supposed to be in the script.

That too me wouldn't be enough... to build her up as a buddy, I'm not sure... I like the idea she is rescued from a lab and is weak, skinny... pale and she is the key.... to winning the battle and she recuperates..

I'm also curious as to the extent of Supergirl's role in a FLASH movie (and what looks to be a Flashpoint type reset movie).

Hopefully, it's more than just a glorified cameo. Based on the casting search and how involved that seemed to be, and based on how they announced this, it seems like more than just a brief cameo or a one-and-done deal for Supergirl.

But, is she going to be a central character to the story? Are Flash, Supergirl, and Keaton's Batman going to be the 3 main pillars of the story? Is Flash going to be overshadowed in his own film?

If so they should change the name. Then do a different movie called The Flash more about him.
If he meets the Jay Garrick Flash in another earth and he has a bigger role than Keaton or Affleck as Batman. Then it would make more sense to be called The Flash.
But if two Batmen and a Kryptonian are more central to the story......

Well, it worked out brilliantly with Batman Vs Superman so why not repeat the formula of overstuffing a movie and drowning out the main character! :o
