This thread is meant to be a continuation of this thread
All the technical details of this deal
I also made this thread in the spinoff forum because I thought it was pretty important, but it got no replies
Sony's Spider-Man Universe is now the official title for Sony's own Marvel Cinematic Universe
So I have read conflicting reports about Spider-Man's future in the MCU. In the September 2019 renegotiation, Variety reported that after Spider-Man NwH, Spider-Man would be in one more MCU movie. Whether that would be MCU Spider-Man 4 or a crossover movie, I don't know.
But in more recent news, Collider interviewed Tom Holland this year and he said NwH is the last movie in his contract
And lastly what Feige and Panitch said. Both interviews with Variety
These imply that he would end up in the SSMU after No Way Home, and who knows how they'll handle canonicity then.

The new deal was signed late on Thursday night. Negotiations involved top players from both studios, including Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman, Feige and Walt Disney Studios co-chairs Alan Horn and Alan Bergman. In exchange for lending Feige's producing prowess, Marvel and Disney will receive roughly 25% of the profits, according to insiders. Disney will retain its merchandising rights and will put up roughly a quarter of the financing. As part of the arrangement, Spider-Man will also appear in one future Marvel Studios film.
But in more recent news, Collider interviewed Tom Holland this year and he said NwH is the last movie in his contract
“[Spider-Man 3] would be my last one [under contract] so I’ve always said to them if they want me back I’ll be there in a heartbeat. I’ve loved every minute of being a part of this amazing world. It’s changed my life for the better, I’m so lucky to be here. If they want me back I’ll be there, if they don’t I will walk off into the sunset a very, very happy person because it’s been an amazing journey.”
And lastly what Feige and Panitch said. Both interviews with Variety
“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it,” Feige said in a statement. “Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”
“There actually is a plan,” he says. “I think now maybe it’s getting a little more clear for people where we’re headed and I think when ‘No Way Home’ comes out, even more will be revealed.”
These imply that he would end up in the SSMU after No Way Home, and who knows how they'll handle canonicity then.
