I would love a Darth Vader show
Darth Vader is scariest in small doses and carries a certain mystique because we never see too much of him. A Darth Vader show would ruin that.
Thankfully Kathleen Kennedy said as much.
You don't decide it's better. What I feel is less personal, less emotional, less creative, to me isn't better. To me it's not really competent to do something like that, because I see it as not viewed through the lens of real character, story, emotional weight, quality. But through empty gestures and feigned illusions of weight and character, while the story is dragged behind, to me.
I distinctly think that ROTS is better in mostly all the, writing structure wise, ways that I see as what measures a quality work. To me, story, character, emotional weight. While I think Kenobi has very little of those things.
I would love a Darth Vader show
We still have three episodes to go. Highly doubt they brought Hayden Christensen back just to be in the suit (and that one vision scene) and not eventually explore flashbacks or any internal conflict within the character.I hate the idea of him just being used as this big scary evil character.
It is such a wonderfull Tragic tale, it deserves more than being used as "big scary sith".
We're getting Andor with many different perspectives from the Rebels.I would love a Darth Vader show
Honestly, this show just isn't very well made, imo.No one hates Star Wars more than the fandom itself, is what I've come to find out.
Sure, and that's fine, but you can't exactly say that there aren't any Star Wars fans out there who don't blindly hate everything that's come out of the franchise post-Disney acquisition. That's what I was referring to.Honestly, this show just isn't very well made, imo.
It looks cheap, and is shot and lit in the blandest, most tv-esque way I've seen from a Star Wars show yet. All the characters, besides Obi-Wan, seem incredibly one dimensional, and maybe they're saving a lot of character reveals for later, but they're really not doing a very good job of creating any sort of suspense or mystery about anyone in this series.
I didn't actually expect much from this show, but I'm pretty shocked at how little I like it.
Oh, definitely, that is true. I just don't think this show is necessarily a good example of that.Sure, and that's fine, but you can't exactly say that there aren't any Star Wars fans out there who don't blindly hate everything that's come out of the franchise post-Disney acquisition. Bringing up your opinion is one thing. You said it's better, not that you think it's better or whathaveyou.I absolutely 100% do, amigo. All we ever argue on here are our opinions. All you are doing is trying to be is argumentative with some nonsensical word salad here. We ALL decide what is better. You, me, Dupree, everyone. We all have our preferences in what food is better, what clothes are cooler, and yes....which frigging show is vastly superior to a crappy prequel film that was garbage.
I'd like to think so, but I don't trust them to write something that's not dumb for the sake of plot, in that way, and I felt they haven't developed that, yet, and if they do develop it, I think it'd be weakly written after the fact information. To me, a simple showcase of the stormtroopers starting to go after them and Vader lifting his hand as an order to stop would've showed that in actions. Maybe even ending the episode on a cold, angry, but not yelling, line of dialogue, "Run, Obi-Wan. You can't hide from me anymore."I really don’t think Vader LET Obi Wan get away.
If that’s what they wanted it to be then it could have been handled much better than it was.
Vader seemed pretty content with throwing him around and torturing him and I think that would have continued if that other character hadn’t intervened.
Vader searched for this dude for 10 years. I don’t think he’d let him slip away again for who knows how long.
I thought similarly. I thought it was one of the few visually distinct scenes this show has had and a high point of that end part, to me.The lighting during the duel really flashed me - my living room was all blue and red
Very similar to the lighting at the Dooku duel in AtoC
I'm legit shocked at the 56% audience score on RT. I'm not attacking anybodys opinion, but I am surprised at the score being that low.
Should someone like something they think is a faulty product or not very interesting/compelling in a visual, character based and/or story based way?No one hates Star Wars more than the fandom itself, is what I've come to find out.
I think similarly. To me, lackings in interesting characters, visuals, stories. I think it's all mostly blah. Kinda par for the course for these shows, to me. A couple interesting things happen, but the rest is empty bland characters and exchanges, to try and make me think someone is cool, but, to me, is shows the weakness. I thought similarly with TBOBF. Maybe my expectations were too high for these shows. Maybe I should've expected it to be an empty, uninteresting story with weak/bland and/or empty characters.Honestly, this show just isn't very well made, imo.

Tame, maybe not. Not as interesting or emotionally satisfying to engage with? In my opinion. Does Vader being tame or not make the show not weak? He can be as vicious as the day is long and burn people alive for a full episode. But if it's not done in an interesting and/or engaging and/or emotionally compelling way, some may see it as weak and/or lame and/or bland.Eh, agree to disagree. I just can't understand people who state that Darth Vader was tame in this for instance.

I would say the animated stuff far surpasses Revenge of the Sith.
The animated stuff pretty much is the foundation holding ROTS up. Lucas just built the house before anyone laid the foundation. I remember before Clone Wars ROTS didn't have nearly as much emotional weight. And now thanks to Filoni Order 66 and Anakin's betrayal actually hurts. Anakin's betrayal no longer feels like a sudden turn. Its 3 years of BS and manipulation and war and death and loss culminating in a desperate breakdown.
I would love a Darth Vader show

So the audience score is like 56%, interesting ofcourse.
But im not suprised, it isnt really good, the writing is bad, you notice that real quick with this show.
